I don't really focus upon the fact that we could identify most of these people as 'Asian'. The word 'Asian' covers a huge base of people who are very different from each other in cultures and beliefs.

For me most of the problems stem from the cultural baggage that comes from certain attitudes in Islam towards women, especially non Islamic women.

I'd say most followers of Islam would be dismayed about these gangs. It should be noted that these people would be regarded as criminals even within a community holding problematical attitudes. So with most extreme criminal activity we should recognise that it's a minority within a minority who are willing to make these attitudes criminal and particulate in these activities.

However, the authorities were dragged kicking and screaming to deal with these realities. Many girls have suffered hugely because of, what can accurately be described as left wing dogma, against any recognition of these community realities.

The chickens have come home to roast and all those zealots who easily accused others of racism or racist intent share in some of the blame in the reluctance of Police and social services to stick their heads out and push against the political attitudes from ruling authorities and management.....Is it right to blame the people at the coal face dealing with issues when a wrong word sees them being suspended or sacked? 'Institutional racism' is accepted as reality with ridiculous reeducation programs the norm. The 'witch hunt' culture directly leads to a 'safety first' mentality. The effort to avoid 'offence' by denial of reality leads to far worse outcomes.

But as with most occasions when someone's core attitudes are attacked these people double down and/or deflect. The reason that many hold these attitudes is more emotionally driven than rationally held. I have seen some reluctant movement from some after these cases, which shows that some are willing to allow reason to affect thinking. But as you might expect, they are the minority.

Where are the people who attacked these stories now? The justifications provided should not by forgotten. We shouldn't forget what they led and are still leading to.

It should also be noted and never forgotten what the reactions were from the Muslim Council of Britain and left learning organizations were when these crimes were first brought up. Those 'head in the sand' reactions enabled abuse.

Given the more prevalent distribution of offenders are indo-Asian (Banglideshi, Indian and pakistani) in most of these kinds of cases, I suspect that there is a cultural issue here notably in the regards for women in those countries, and how that is reflected in cultures - towards the idea of violence and women.

All three have a very disturbing disregard for women as people. Sex and violence, and sexual exploitation of women, by men, are common place in all three heritage cultures - along with a disregard for women who can be sexually exploited.

Of note, in regards to this case, a little known fact - is that over 100 people were convicted of offences in relation to this case, from across Newcastle, not just the 17 here, who are the ring leaders and key profiteers from the crimes. The same relates to other cases, the news stories cover those who profited from or operated these rings.

It does seem that there are a larger number of abusers in the network that were paying for sex with these girls that don't appear in the list of names.

The point, I suppose, is that tidy definitions are meaningless in the real world.

As I suggested. Nationality is becoming less significant in the modern world and certainly in Britain because many migrants are more loyal to their religion and or country of origin than where they have chosen to live.
It takes a concious decision to embrace the culture of the majority in order to become what is accepted as 'British', what ever that is at the time. Many do not, so calling them British is a meaningless label.

What is British though?
