I'd consider not worrying about the fallout anyway because there isn't much you can do anyhow. Learn to love the bomb and all of that.

Three feet underground with a month's supply....People do have shelters in the country.

Looking into the future I've been thinking that this should be more of a priority for those interested.

Last thing you probably want to do is survive an large scale nuclear war. Everything is going to be so f**ked up, and the area around Reading is going to be a radioactive wasteland given the number of key targets in the area.

I think that's pessimistic more than realistic in terms of an attack from NK. Even from Russia and China there are questions about how many nukes would be focused upon the mainland given the likely focus upon knocking out our response.....Much more so when you consider that the US would be by far the main focus and concern for the enemy.

If you could get underground quickly and you had a month's supply then I think you have grounds for being more optimistic....if you have things to live for.

One thing is for certain, the country isn't going to be knocked out, severely damaged, but scenarios where everyone's dead doesn't relate to the investigations I've looked at anyway.

In terms of North Korea, the US likely isn't going to go crazy and unleash its full load. Likely as not it'd be a airburst strike aimed at one or more cities - which produces minimal fallout (as that's largely a product of radioactive dust thrown up by a ground strike).

The impact in terms of radiation and fall out in the UK is going to be next to next to nothing. It'd take a large scale strike with ground burst and 'bunker busters' to produce a meaningful fall out.

Important note for shelters though, don't build them under your house or too close to a building, or in the celler of buildings if you live near a likely target - otherwise you risk being buried in your bunker (especially if its beneath a building or structure - as there is a good chance that the building will come down on you - and there will be no emergency service to speak off to dig you out).

I think the whole world will be devastated by a huge nuclear war any day now leaving nothing on this planet except for 2 HOL forum posters (I have no specific ones in mind) left to disagree about every subject under the sun and argue semantics for all eternity.

Hopefully one of them is Kermit, so he can usefully tell us that Muslims weren't to blame.

One thing we can probably be thankful for is that in the event of a global nuclear holocaust, Muslims probably won't be to blame, unless it all kicks off over Kashmir.

Well for the next decade or so.

Or Israel but yeah.

But in terms of Cashmere...everybody knows how serious that is.....If India don't give them back their coats there is going to be some serious hell to pay.

That reminds me...I need a holiday.

Is it summer here? Is it....frigging sun is an embarrassment! Get more heat hugging a sodding water bottle.

Bloody typical.

Like when we didn't play in Europe the year after Heysel and being in the top league during the Match of the Day strike, typical for Palace that on the verge of our greatest season ever we get bloomin' World War III.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.
