I don't understand what your getting at about Jedinak and Bolasie either?

Both jedinak and bolasie both done pre season last season yet they had moves lined up before wba. Why did they play on that day then. The season starts on the 12th. It's not a shock to anyone. Not attacking subs on the bench today. That's underprepared but yet no blame is pointed at parish.

We are not relegation favourites with this squad. Either we'll get the reinforcements to make this system work or ditch it, but FDB isn't enough of a mug to blindly persist with it if it repeatedly fails, I'm sure. If he does stick with it and we're bottom at Christmas, I'll hold my hands up.

As for investment, 'abysmal' is a silly assessment. £50 million spent last summer, about £32 million last January. You can have a go at Parish for not getting transfers sorted quickly enough, which is a gripe I have too. Hopefully today's performance will prove to be the bi-annual kick up the arse he seems to require.

£10 mil net last Summer. A big reason for the mess. And he was excused by some because we didn't understand the structure of contracts (what the actual fvck), only for us to go and do the business in January that we should've done in the summer.

I hope you're right on Frank not being a mug, but managers can be stubborn beasts, plus their repeated bizarre selections.

FFS, it could have been so much worse, we could have got spanked by BHA & that would have been something to whinge about. First game with new tactics, took Big Sam several weeks to get the players round to his way of thinking.

I don't know.Does it matter?
Maybe FDB hasn't made his mind up what striker he wants yet? If thats the case (nobody knows but those inside the club) what would happen if Parish went and got a striker in that FDB didn't 100% want? He'd be an interfering t***.So he's not going to win either way.

Put this way. We start really badly no wins in 6 games for instance. The players lose confidence like they did under pardew. This is the big concern. Where we could of ticked by with dyche. Not as exciting but keep us in the division for a couple more years. Give us stability.

I agree that De Boer's maybe been restricted (perhaps caged) but there's also something to be said for holding off for a while and being patient with bids.
It's still the start of the season. If we'd splashed the cash early we might have put all our eggs in one basket with big transfer fees. After today's catastrophe at least Parish can see where the team is lacking. But he isn't like Levy. Time is of the essence and today was not a job well-done. Something bad could be coming our way and we can't duck or play chicken. We need three or four players in my opinion for the squad to really spread its wings and fly. I do think the board will provide de Boer with the funds and the players.

I ain't got nuthin' funny to say. Sorry.

He'd be a turkey if he didn't.

The investment is abysmal since the end of last season, what happened in the past we can't change, except to look at the team we finished with last season and accept it was not fit for purpose despite all that investment. A complete rebuild is needed at the back at the very least if we are to make any progress. Today's performance underlines all that, we were comprehensively beaten by one of the weakest, if not the weakest team in the PL. This is a serious warning to SP, why can't he see it or is he burying his head in the sand like he did with Pardew?

One day we will get it right but I don't think I'll live long enough to see it.

Whilst we need to get some players in we had some good ones available for today's game but the team selection and set up was a joke.

Don't want to see another vid of de Boer juggling, doing press ups etc.

Writing been on the wall for a few weeks IMO.

So, let's not kid ourselves spartakev these squad/team barely survived last season and someone pointed out barring hull game. Lost 4 out 5 back end of the season. If we want de Boer to be successful surely we have to make funds available for him. I mean Huddersfield have spent more than us. Even teams in the championship. Underinvested at your peril. You get 100+m for staying in this division. He's not a miracle worker and deserves a similar budget. Sod ffp rules, no one else follows them. It's just an excuse not to buy players. 2 loans and an untried Ajax defender. Hardly giving him your full support. Look at Watford for instance, their backing their manager.
