Yes I think 3-4-3 is the polar opposite of what suits us and what is exciting. We only have 2 good wide players so play Wilf and Townsend in a 4-1-4-1 so we can use 3 good midfielders RLC with Cabaye, and Luka playing behind them to protect defence.
Stick with Ward, Dan, Tomkins and Schlupp in defence with the 2 young Dutch guys ready to come in should any of these be out of form.
Please no pucheon, Hennessy or Van Arnholt

The worrying aspect is Scott Dann, our supposed best defender is unable to pass the ball and looks very uncomfortable with the ball at his feet.
Kelly gets a lot of stick on here, but he is no worse than Dann as a ball player.
This system exposes footballers for limitations as is too glaringly obvious.

The central centre back must act as sweeper and bring the ball out of defence. Scott dann doesn't suit this role. This is why Sakho needed.

Forget about Sakho, he is still injured and we aren't about to spend £30m on an unfit player that may not recover his form

The way I read it, this possession-based style of play requires all 11 players to be comfortable on the ball. If there's a weak link the whole chain fails. We don't have a weak link - we've got several. So I'd expect to see a number of the names we're used to seeing as regulars on the team sheet being offloaded and replaced - Ward, Delaney & Dann are leading candidates. Maybe Kelly & Tomkins too.
This is a huge project. It's about the future of our club. I believe it's worth it. But, as others have said, it's also a huge risk.

The bit I'm really struggling with is that FDB was appointed and immediately announced his tactical intentions without seeing the players available to him.

I've been sceptical since then and of course yesterdays performance and result is only adding fuel to that fire.

I haven't seen a Palace team that easy to play against since Burley's era.

Oh,so we've made a mistake with the Manager( after one game!!).

We need to be patient and trust our manager.

The players won't be comfortable overnight with the system but we are work in progress.

Arsenal didn't always play the silky football they play now.they had to learn.

I for one think FdB will get it right.

Might take time but would rather watch us playing pass and move than kick and rush.

We don't have players of Arsenal quality - or of the quality at Ajax when FDB was manager. He is expecting far too much of inexperienced or journeyman players.

The right place at the right time

Well let's start by recruiting Lucas Perez.

Perhaps letting Lee and Williams start matches could help. they are both comfortable on the ball and can pass.

If you want to play like Ajax 1995 then buy better players. Until then play to our strengths and stop pretending we're comfortable on the ball. Oh and stop marking zones, mark the man. Zones don't score.
