Ok. Do you think that far right fascist groups should be able to march through towns unchallenged?

Only if they're not protected. I recommend they start with Toxteth.

The New Communist Party of Great Britain has about 700 members. Back when the Communist Party of Great Britain broke up it had 4000 members.

So would anyone even notice if they did.

Odd fact, Fergus Nicholson (who left to form Straight Left, taught on my NVQ level 1 and 2).

There were 3000 Fascists and 6000 police.

I don't think they were unchallenged in any sense that suggests that they were an immediate danger to the public.
I think it's fair to say that the 20,000 that arrived from all over the place to oppose them might have been part of the problem.

Your average non-political man probably wasn't interested in a political rally.

Although I'd argue that Jews and Dockers are pretty average people.

That were self interested parties I'd say since at the time, they were considered to be top of the undesirable list.

Well that reference to Jews and Irish dockers gives us an insight into your way of looking at the world. The point is that if the fascists had been allowed to march through the Jewish areas they would have done what the Nazis were doing at the time if they could i.e. smash up what they regarded as Jewish property and beat up anyone they thought was a Jew. The same would have happened at Lewisham and all over Britain if the anti Nazi League had not stopped them there and at many other places. Why do you think they chose Whitechapel and Lewisham for their marches? It wasn't because they liked the area.

People who were there.

Anti-fascists
Communists
Socialists
Anarchists
British Jews
Irish dockers
Independent Labour Party

The British Union of Fascists (Blackshirts)
The Met Police.

Where was your average non political man? And this was on a Sunday.

Need I say more.

This rather exposes the problem. You are all as bad as each other.
The active Left and Right are never happier than when they are laying into each other.

They are like football hooligan gangs who see the police involvement as spoiling their fun.

No. It actually gives you an insight into the fact that I got the facts from Wiki.

Sorry, I still laughing.

And you say Jewish areas? I thought this was Britain and people had the right to demonstrate.
Of course, they were marching in sensitive areas for a reason. Do the Left do exactly the same?

Don't think for one minute that I'm defending Fascists. I'm just responding to the blinkered idiocy of the Left who want to reduce every argument to black and white.( no pun intended)

The fascists all came from one locale? Or is alright for them to gather from all over the place.

From what I can make out, and correct me if I am wrong. You support the right of fascists, nazis and their ilk to march freely through the streets of Britain.

So you think that those freedoms should only be afforded to the people that you like?

Hmmm. You did say you were against Fascism?
