Agree with Faraway Eagle... I find some of this hysteria and doom and gloom to the defeat pathetic. It took Sam a good 5 to 6 games to get us going and even after that we still got thumped 4-0 at home by the worst team in the Prem last season.

This new style will take time. I also doubt that FDB will have finished in the transfer market yet either.

The problem these days is that fans seem to demand instant success. Sometimes you need to believe that playing the long game is the right thing to do. Expect this season to be a work in progress but I genuinely believe that FDB will, over the next couple of seasons turn us into a very good side.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

How many times does this need saying? Alardyce took over a team that were completely unmatch fit. He didn't have a close season to get them match fit and had to do it during the season for which it wasn't until the end of February that we had a team that would last 90 mins and we're organised enough to win matches. Now, our new manager has taken over this side that Alardyce got up and running and completely changed the formation. Why was that needed? You need to start a season fully prepared and not get stuffed 3.0 by a team that struggled to get through the play offs. It's a huge gamble taken by the Palace owners that perhaps didn't need to be taken if another of the like to Alardyce had been brought in?

Yeah I think after one game its hard to draw comparisons, but what I do agree with you on is the few pre season games we've had; what I'd like to see form now on is to have at LEAST 6 pre season games for the 1st team squad before every season...having said that West Brom had something like 10. They should get them back earlier as well, at least a week.

If we don’t get it right very soon, I shudder to think what the two Manchester teams are going to do to us at the end of September, never mind Liverpool next Saturday.

What the hell does it matter what the opinion of palace fans was. It didn't effect who Steve wanted to hire. Besides Frank may well turn it around and may not rigidly stick to one system if it continues to fail.

Another abject defeat and one can just imagine the 'Blood letting' on HOL.

I do get the impression that in general our supporters are not convinced by FDB at all and he will provide more ammunition if the 3-4-3 comes seriously unstuck at Anfield.

I don't wish to form a judgement after a single game - will give it time before I formulate an opinion.

Im not sure he is right because it took SA quite a while to get us winning and make us more resilient. I dont think its an instant process and would like 4/5 games before I can make a pronouncement.

Huddersfield was the sixth game.

IMHO I think we need every PALACE FAN to get behind the team in order to give our players the confidence that we are all behind them.

And we need every Palace fan regardless of personal opinion to have mutual respect in this regard.

Our club has some of the best vocal fans in the country pro rata, but when things go wrong we obviously let our feelings known. 0-2 down after 30 minutes last week was a hell of a shock to most of us who had bought into the bright new future. 0-3 was devastating.
From the elation of pre kick off and the first few minutes I got to admit that I was stunned by what happened next.
Against Shalke I really felt we were looking good. Then Huddersfield. OMG.
We are passionate at the Palace but we are not the experts. I'm not sure what is going on but I don't feel it is fair to blame the fans.
One thing I do know is that if things are not turned around fast, we will obviously be a pretty depressed bunch. But to blame the fans is a nonsense.
For most of us at Selhurst it was clearly a big shock. I just hope things improve but I'm not holding my breath. I think many realities hit home last week. Now we got to face them.

The fans really don't have much influence in today's game. Where're just pocket money for today's boardrooms. The blame lies at the boardroom and to the overpaid bubble wrapped pre madonas that strutt around on the pitch.
