Swansea
West Brom
Huddersfield
Newcastle
Brighton
Burnley

Arguably Watford and West Ham.

So why don't FdB and his back room staff concentrate on what they get paid to do, and that's coach the team.

If I was Parish, I'd be asking how the likes of Burnley and West Brom (who have spent a fraction of what we have these last 18 months) have managed to finish equal to us concidering their financial modal??? The aim surely needs to be for the team to be profitable and to be able to invest, instead of spending millions to just about stay up.

I would agree, unfortunately however we play football on grass, not paper

We're ranked on a lot of things at 14th in the prem. It's a greasy pole from 11th to 18th with usually one very sh1t side finishing 20th and one also deservedly going down at 19th. It's unacceptable that relegation is a consideration. There is enough room to manoeuvre with funds and assets in the squad to sell to survive.

But yes it's the '95-98 minutes' that count. (Frank Huddersfield post match conference)

I have a lot of time for Steve Parish plus RDB and can see what they are trying to achieve however it is plain to see that unless he has a general in the the back 3 with a creative midfield and several more forwards then this team will fail as it did last time out with Pardew. You have to improve players base every season and this means spending if you want to remain in the Premier League, doing things on the cheap will consign you to the championship.

We could be going into a "reverse" Chelski season where we change the system from 343 not to, to turn the corner, particularly as you say if we don't have a strong character at the back.

Would love to be proved wrong on this, but I don't think I'm going to be. It's virtual footballing suicide to go into the window closed season with a squad with so many gaping holes in it, but I guess that's what you get for acting after the event, which in terms of appointing managers, Steve Parish has had to do ever since we got promoted more or less.

We may have better players but no way we have a beeter team as most of the time teamwork is something we simply don't have.

This comes from a lack of real on field leader

I agree 100 percent. We have a bunch of highly paid individuals who now need to be mounded into a team . Allardyce did it the latter part of last season, but the team spirit and never say die attitude we had in that promotion team has long since gone.

It's usually players off the radar that we sign. Being linked to strikers is lazy journalism to fill column space.

This squad of players are not good enough to keep us in the PL, we are unable to win games at home in enough quantity to be good enough for the PL. The facts are we have won about 33% (26/77)of our home games over the last four and a bit seasons. Currently we are 6 points behind Huddersfield, most people pre-season favourite for the drop. Our investment to date this season is just 8mil, therefore SP would making a very bad business decision if the club were not spend more this window as he would risk losing all the money the club earns from the PL if we were to be heading back to the championship, as we are at the moment with virtually the same group of players who were terrible like it or not last season!

Forget Huddersfield ATM. We need to average 1 point per game at some point at least. Huddersfield will get worked out soon enough.

My apologies. I take it all back. We've signed Dougie Freedman.
