That's gone well hasn't it? The time we needed a change of style was in 2016, when Pardew had us in the last "transition", and we got it with Allardyce who turned us from nailed on certainties for relegation to a team that could beat Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool and finish 14th. Pardew was backed by the fans for a long time, we really got behind him and there were some still defending him when he was sacked. Their styles are 2 completely different types of football but to this day I'd still struggle hugely with exactly what the nonsense served up by Pardew was. This whole transition stuff with him generally was perceived as bollox because I think many people failed to ever see it. What is clear with Frank is that this clearly is a transition. As I keep saying, it may well prove disastrous, it may be a stroke of genius but it is quite obviously a big transition and the outcome of it will not be known yet. Comparing the situation with a manager who overstayed his welcome disgustingly and would've been sacked by every single other premier league club before he was sacked here is like chalk and cheese. What Painter is alluding to is the nature of this reaction. It was one game, God forbid we lose against Liverpool on the weekend which we should know we easily can. It'll be Armageddon on here. A real toxic and divisive atmosphere amongst palace fans this season. A shame to see

To put two 19 years olds , who have never played a competitive game together into a back three, which weve never tried in a competitive game before is stupid, however there were some good things to take from the game, RLC and hopefully he will never play ward as a wing back again, hes fine as a back four player, as for tactical change townsend for luka, it was forced on hom, luka was injured,
