for some reason I feel a pang of optimism.

Due to that, my prediction is only a 4-0 defeat

Just seen de Boer's pre-match presser.

""Liverpool have fantastic players. It will be a very strong team that they put out. They are very dangerous in attack. Jurgen Klopp has selected the players to capitalise on winning the ball in key areas.

"The strength of this club is in the fans being supportive of the team. They understand things won't change in one day."

That's fighting talk. Not.

He's right we all understand things won't change in one day and we don't want things to change over night Frank, we want a natural progression. How about you set up our team and the way we play to our strengths and start changing things gradually as you bring in your own players and have enough time to asses the squad. Why is that so hard to do.

Oh come on people. Most say it'll be 4-1. Sometimes I despair.

Clearly it won't be 4-1.

Where on Earth would we get a goal from ...

This time W H will have to pick out of his net at least 4 goals and I can`t see us scoring at all. Wilf is gone for a month pr so, and then the major drive up front is gone.
And many of us thought afther seeing the fixtures for the first few games that we could pick up some points, but now I don`t think we will.
It will be a disaster start of the season.
Sad but a rality I`m afraid.
Just remember FDB is trying to make as look like Ajax
HA HA what a joke and if he don`t adjust very quickly he will be fighting at the bottom all season.
A lot of negatives but can anybody se a glimz of light in the tunnel?

Just what I thought!

I think it'll either be really close or, potentially, another 9-0.

As has already been said, at least I won't be there to see this one, although the scousers we went on the lash with afterwards were top blokes & as shocked as us.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

I can't remember ever being so pessimistic at the start of a new season, and reckon it will be a 4-0 defeat at least

As another poster put it in another thread if we are going to judge it on chances missed we were the better team and would have won.
Should have been 5? Really? Wasn't though was it. It was 3. And all three would have been avoided with better defending

Sorry but they had the 2nd minute 12 yard shot from having no left back and 2 one on ones. There is no way we had 5 or 6 chances.

The silence of us is a clue to anyone not watching or paying attention.

Reading through this I truly cannot believe the amount of pessimists. I expect us to lose sure but just because we were awful Saturday everyone seems to think we'll be awful every week now till the end of the season.
We were far worse under Allardyce against Sunderland. He turned it around. And it took him 2 or 3 games to do so. Give FdB a break.
We'll lose tomorrow but the score will be respectable. We need to support and believe in our team if we want them to believe in themselves.

I think we'll defend with our lives (well, within our capabilities) and come away with a well-earned 5-0 defeat.

Articles on Frank in the summer were analysing how he plays more containing football vs top teams so we'll see how we get on tomorrow and show a decent performance.

On the plus side Liverpool defending against Watford was shonky as f**k, possibly worse than ours
