The insane part wasnt hiring Pardew, it was sacking Pulis.
The Owners obviously looked at the last time he followed Pulis and had a degree of success, improving on the previous season's league finish, despite only taking over in December, after a bad start.

I absolutely agree. And think you’re right about their reasons for hiring him. I can only think that Pulis started being an untenable arsehole again like he has at most clubs.

Heard about those at cash machines who get marked with an X in chalk which signals they have drawn money and reprobates then home in on them.Certainly heard positive things about Barcelona but the negatives are certainly off-putting.Seemingly the 'Policia' are ineffective in terms of stopping or dealing with crimes trhat have been committed.

There's only one thing more insane than hiring him after seeing what he did to us and that's sacking someone like Pulis in order to do so. Asking to be relegated.

It’s no worse than London from that perspective but with less violent crime. Been going 2/3 times a year for decades now & have never had a problem albeit I did see one bag snatching incident a few years ago. The grabber was nailed by two passers by, properly....

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

I also don't understand sacking Pulis before the January transfer window. Like him or not he knows his way around a relegation scrap and it was on his watch that Dann & Ledley were brought in to stabilise what had been a leaky defense.

I rarely go to London on the train but had to do so today,as I was alighting from the 10:14 from East Croydon at Victoria a passenger in first class was trying very hard to turn away and not be seen,It was as the title suggests Alan Pardew,in a blue suit and white shirt,he stuck to the left hand side as we alighted. You can make your guesses as to what he was up to!

He needs the train?

What A t***. Calls his player stupid by saying he wouldn't have done that because he's so 'logical'!!! Poor West Brom... We know the feeling of listening to that sh1te week in week out and the senseless tactics and subs, but sorry, we need you, Swansea and one more to go down instead of us - commiserations. But, listening to AP again, isn't it fantastic to have Roy? Well Done Roy, you are showing your real class.

Same old,same old Pards.Excuses, excuses.
Everyone else's fault as usual.
His team had just two games like many others over the festive season and unlike Roy,who never once complained about us having 3 games in a few days,Pards is bleating like it is all an evil conspiracy!!
Facts are that he has made one hell of a difference at West Bromwich, taking them down into the bottom two with just three points from 8 games,a performance similar to 2016 when he led Palace to just 6 wins all year, the worst record in Western Europe at the time.
Some things never change.
