yep, Dann got the winner at Liverpool season before last and has put a few goals away in the PL. He's a good poacher late in the game, especially with his head.

And yet we only lost 1 0 against Liverpool at anfield. ..must have done something right.

From what I've seen and heard we played just like an Alladyce side, packed the middle, sat deep and countered. So FdB can be pragmatic and play the good old English way if needed. In fact Liverpool had their best spell when we chased the game and left gaps in behind. So we can only guess what might of happened had we been open from the start. The players are getting a lot of stick as being too stupid to play any way but the Pulis/Alladyce way, which is pretty disrespectful IMO.
The performance was solid and gives us something to build on, but the real test is at home. The old way hasn't worked since we've been up and the new way took a knock last weekend, but we have to find a way to win at home.

Clearly you didn't watch yesterday's game, as you failed to notice the fact that we played very similar tactics to when SA was here.

FdB has said a few times that if you can't have/dominate the ball then you need to make your opponent go where you want (or something like that). A vast amount of the possession conceded was 40+ yards from our goal so, maybe, that's part of the plan for playing the bigger teams.
