I can see your point on the money spent on players But if you take into account over the past couple of years the players we have sold Balasie, Macarthy, Gayle, Murrey,Mandanda and a few others. our overall spend on players is relatively low for a prem club

Its amazing to read on here how easy it must be to run a Premiership football club judging by some of the comments! I mean you only have to select the finest players at rock bottom prices knowing their values will only skyrocket in value. How hard can that be? They will be playing under your special personally selected manager (nobody on your management shortlist would ever turn you down or fail to return your call surely?) I for one am a realist it must be bloody hard work trying to keep a club like Palace running, healthy and also within the Premier League Short Term Cost Control Rules. Sure there have been a couple of subsequently poor purchases that carry high wages we would rather rid of.

It is generally thought it is a simple role running a club like ours. Just endlessly buy players and sack managers after 2 loses and expect to get a better one by the next game, as there are lots of managers that can do better.

Do love the people on here who think they can provide an exact analysis of the maths, those who want to compare our position now contextually against the history of the club or best of all the absolute f***ing muggy do gooders who think they have some moral high ground for speaking out against anyone raising a concern - my feelings for you people are visceral. Would like to highlight that my original point if you read properly or to be fair maybe misinterpreted, was to ask if anyone had any positives for me as believe it or not I will still drink out of my selhurst mug at work, attend all home and some away games and keep the home shirt hanging from my wall at home. I just feel as though the situation is pretty dire currently, I struggle to see where the optimism or hope can be justified (thin, non PL quality squad with a lack of transfer activity, bizarre tactics etc.) I thought maybe I hadn't taken something into consideration.

We've got a very sought after young manager who wants to change the DNA of the club for the better and is just finding his feet still. The transfer window doesn't shut for another ten days.

In response do Brentmaster, I did mention earlier my despair (suggesting perhaps some irrationality), but a manager trying to change the DNA of a club which barely survived due to loaning a world class CB and playing to its strengths (or 'DNA') by employing tactics almost directly against this, without that player and relying on us apparently signing a number of players in the next 10 days with no real evidence of that happening doesn't really help. Still very concerned
