I'm somewhat more concerned because the non-Islamic fascists seem to be able to operate with relative impunity in the US, have supporters in the White House and support across the US political spectrum. As such I can to some tiny extent.

Where as IS etc don't have any support in the UK or US government, and are regarded as targets for military action - their supporters are under secret service, police and intelligence agency investigations etc.

I'm fairly certain we're doing all we can to deal with that threat. When the president is saying there are good people on the side of the Islamist extremists it might be another matter.

It's not fair to say Trump supports fascists. He has explicitly condemned them. You are just ignoring what you choose and highlighting what you want to highlight.

It is true that he is soft focused on the far right because he knows they vote for him and that everyone on the left hates him and never will.....it's like how he treats the religious republicans.....he isn't religious but he keeps them happy. They will vote for him.

But saying Trump supports the far right.....no, he has condemned all violence. Did Obama condemn black lives matter when its supporters murdered Police....or did he condemn the violence.

I see double standards with Trump all the time....both from him and about him.

Further to the above, I imagine that PT James is a kind of Charles Manson figure for trans people and is followed everywhere by a coterie of devoted gender fluid people's, whom engage in his every sordid whim.

Before I get castigated, this is not a judgement on trans people but is on PT James.

He doesn't support fascists or neo-Nazis, he certainly isn't one, but its 101 in terms of groups you can easily and roundly condemn. He's just to stupid to see that their support is more harmful to him than beneficial.

BLM is a bit more complicated - because there is a wider issue at its heart relating to police violence and the use of deadly force (which isn't just about Black people either - its about poor people white, black or Latino). BLM and most civil rights groups don't promote hate towards American citizens or the American way of life (for the most part).

In the US the acceptable level for the police to use deadly force is astonishingly low, and they're trained in most cases to respond to a sense of threat to the self, with lethal force (and with no real risk of consequence if the person is the right 'type' i.e. poor and insignificant in terms of power).

Neo-Nazis and the 'White Nationalists' (effectively very dumbed down fascism) do - its at the fundamental core of their belief and message - hate and oppression of other US citizens.

There isn't really any defence of such people, other than the hypothetical 'well they do have that right' - Of course if they were Muslim or Black - You can be pretty sure they wouldn't be granted as much leeway to do the same thing. I can't really imagine that if a black protestors turned up totting guns they'd be allowed the same kind of freedom (and rightly so - in no society should the idea of people protesting armed to the teeth with firearms be considered a reasonable thing).

Because there is a perception among sentators and representatives, esp in the South that these people are important to their vote (when they aren't, they're just very vocal).
