Accept that I didn't. I said, 'visually tell', which is to do with skin colour. It's a genetic difference. Being European isn't determined by skin colour. But our point is to do with skin colour and so we are using those labels for easy reference. Play clean please.

The numbers would be low....I haven't seen the programme but that's the reality. In IS foreign fighters tended to band together in groups. I'm quite happy to make the point out of a concern about accuracy....but I've no real desire to bang on about skin colour for long. Religion cares little for skin colour, cultures can be different, but it's the attitudes and resulting violence from this religion that is the primary concern.

Google it - Whilst its by no means all, there are Syrians who have blonde and even red hair, blue eyes and pale skin (along with Lebbanese and Egyptians). It might be less common for them to pass as Nordic, but they could easily pass as European - especially as Mediterranean European. I'm not sure what you'd class as Genetic European especially in regard to racial features - as that would run a very large scope - But that's probably more a term of convenience.

I was using 'genetic' European to refer to white skin...maybe Nordic would have been better really.
