Snowflake alert.

Oh, BTW. I actually suffer from mental health issues.

Me too, I've been on medication for about 17 years now.

Interestingly, since I stopped telling employers about it, I managed to get jobs.

Now if that isn't an incentive to go private I don't know what is.

We could adjust the pay scale based upon the quality.

Personally, I abhor the stereotyping of c**** and w******, after all the NHS would probably collapse without them.

OK I worked out one that is shorthand for a ra****, but what's the second?

Sorry to hear that Jamie. Mine don't affect me all the time but when they do it can be quite overwhelming.

Despite our new world of tolerance, I don't doubt for a minute that employers will avoid you if you use the magic words, 'mental health issues'.
I guess that conjures up a whole load of scary stuff to some people. Most sufferers just suffer and that is about it.

The meds keep me just levelled out more or less, to a reasonable state, provided I keep within certain sensible behaviours (like not getting too hammered, or drink two days in a row, taking regular breaks to clear my head, not caring about things that mean nothing etc).

But yeah, its a red flag of epic proportions on a job application (except in the civil service, which probably explains why so many people with Mental Health issues end up there).

Thing is Nick old buddy, People would be more inclined to see your side of the coin, if every time you posted a link it wasn't to some Lefty fringe website.

'Oh that thing we promote is bad for you' wouldn't be in the editorial brief.

There's plenty in the teaching/social work who have time off through stress or mental illness.

Who knows what kinds of PTSD firefighters at Grenfell will have. Does choosing the cheaper option of cladding or lax building controls come under the auspices of capitalism?
