78 PL home games and only 26 won, SP is as much to blame, he let other good candidates slip like Silva at Watford and he also think an unproven 8mil player with no PL experience and a couple of loan signings who need more PL experience are enough to keep us in this league, he alone is going to cost this club it PL position and all the cash that goes with it!

I would agree re. changing the style. But these are the same players who were crap for most of Sam's tenure, and crap for an entire year before he arrived.

Don't forget, in his first 8 league games the team got 4 points. Things did not improve until after our near 40m January spending spree.

That's why I don't think it is a simple as being FDB or the playing style's fault. They might not be helping, but there are deeper squad issues that go back a long way.

Why is our spending so restricted? CYL, Williams, Sako, Mutch, Kelly, Ward, Delaney, Hennesey, etc., are not good enough. Only a couple of them regularly contribute in any meaningful positive way. We must be wasting 200k+ pw on wages.

Now, Williams may come good but the rest are overpaid and underperforming and have been for a while. That's why I don't think this is just about the manager or his system.

What on earth made you dream that up, he cant even make the bench in the League Cup. Giving him another contract sums up how poor we are in selecting players.

Agreed. Back from the match today, my first of the season as missed Huddersfield.

I was shocked. We have taken a massive step backwards.
Its clear without Zaha we have virtually no threat but a group of heavy footed footballers with no confidence.

We looked much better with Cabaye on the pitch, we need to start him. With Ruben, Cabaye, Zaha AND Townsend all fit, then we stand a chance.

We can't afford injuries, we have no strength in depth.

Get rid of this turnip as its clear he has no idea. We have had a preseason to get ready for the new season and by new players. We have bought one CB who likes like old rope and two loanees.

Welcome to Palace, we're a joke

A very valid point from Paul Merson after the match ......The pundit

Paul Merson: Something has to change [at Palace]. Sammy Lee is there, he is a great football man. There is nothing wrong with getting the ball forward every now and then. You are asking defenders to do things [keep possession] they are not comfortable doing. Last season, defenders would just lump the ball forward, job done.

Note the use of the word may, not will. I'm not hopeful.

Just saw fdb on sky. Apparently yhey had 2 and z half chances and took 2. We had 2 very good chances and possibly 4 or 5 half chances and took none. Must have been watching a different game to me. They missed 2 absolute sitters in the first half. Maybd he should explain why We just sat back in our own half in the first half rather than press them in their half....

Our Two loan signings have been our best players and Ruben wasn't even on the pitch.

First half was appalling ,I don't think the players has any idea of what they supposed to do from an attacking point of view ,We gave that game to Swansea ,I won't mind if we showed any signs of improvement but we didn't and we haven't. To play the way FDB wants to play we need to buy at least 6 experienced premier league ready players total cost circa £100 mln Good Luck with that

On the plus side well played Jimmy and Yohan (even though you are both far from properly fit).Punch ,I have no idea what you think your role is !!!!

Today made the difference in our play between our natural tactics and this wing backs bollocks really obvious. Three points in the bag if we'd played the right way for 90 minutes.

If I see more of the same s***e after the international break I'm going to want de Boer gone.

These should be kept, Swansea's first goal came after Tomkins had a reasonable good chance to test their keeper and somehow he only managed to test the strength of his bollocks and then we know what happens after a change of players in defence after 44 mins means for Palace don't we, do not understand why we keep on giving away goals in the last moments of time, concentration has always been awful it was awful against Huddersfield it cost us the point at Anfield and today it shone nice and bright again.

Well let's look on the bright side. We're not bottom and only 7 points off a Champions League place.
