FdB won with Ajax, but Dutch football is not the same as in the Cruyff years. For H...sake, even Steve "Wolly" McLaren won the Dutch shampionship not long ago....

And if sam doesn't come back (which he won't ), who else would you suggest. No one available at the moment who I can think of. So you're looking at poaching someone else's manager. Who's going to leave their existing club after 3 games to come to palace, who sack their manager after 3 games and don't seem to be able to hold onto a manager for very long. Add onto that compensation paid to FdB and compensation to another club for poaching their manager....
