Sorry if it's already posted but I see Newcastle are willing to let Dwight Gayle go if they can find a replacement .

Would you take him back?

On a free, yes. If Wickham is going to be out then Lokilo, Anderson and Ladapo are our backups for Benteke. No disrespect to those guys but Gayle has more experience.

Doesn't this just prove that the Championship is his level - as many of us knew?

NO.

Has looked poor for Newcastle so far, and can't play by himself up front, so he wouldn't be effective cover for Benteke.

We need an actual striker, and preferably someone who could also play as a No.10 or on the wing.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Newcastle want rid because they have found out he's not a premier league striker. Was awful in his first two games.

He's a fantastic championship striker but not good enough for this level.

He's not what we should be looking for.

No, but also, why would he want to come back to a club where he was barely given any playing time?

I imagine a Championship club will bite their arm off for him if he's willing to drop back down again. I could also see someone like Brighton or Burnley taking him.

You mean the club that gave him Premiership football! having been at Peterborough. This proves as many have said he is not a Premiership player...Championship yes, all day long. About time we gave this a rest now.

Wasn't given enough of a chance in the premier league. In my opinion he is more then good enough at Premier League level and still very young. He's quick and a quality finisher. I'd take him back as quick as anything. He is a brilliant super sub at this level..

He's 26 and really should be hitting his peak years as a striker of his nature. If he hasn't learned it by now as a top-level striker then he's not going to.
