I have a good life, football is a hobby. It will never depress me.

The minute you don't like something, don't do it.

These threads always come out when we are doing badly... I guess people are naturally pessimistic and nostalgic.

I can't believe anyone who sat through watching Peter Taylor's team can say this is any worse. if you compare it to the promotion season of course its less exciting because we were winning every week!

It really isn't about nostalgia though. We are a so-called established Premiership team with our "best", most expensively assembled squad ever. Something is wrong somewhere when we can't even win at home. Bored with it.

is a tough habit to break. It was easier for me because I moved to Sussex 5 years ago. On the couple of occasions each season I made it to Selhust, I was distinctly underwhelmed. Huddersfield was the most recent.

Just take a breather now and again. Hopefully the excitement will return

I moved to leamington spa so it's a good 200 mile round trip and it's worse for Saturday games as I work nights on a Friday and travel straight up on the Saturday morning so s*** football and now sleep for 36 hours!

walking down the holmesdale road to see the palace aces!

Well said!

Although when Palace are playing well, it does make me happier :-)

Totally agree Paperhat

It has become the same for me too, I have been a season ticket holder for 14 years now but this is the first season as a supporter that I have gone into a new season feeling demotivated and unexcited by it all.

Obviously you cannot win every game, you have highs and lows and we have certainly experienced a hell of a lot worse off times than this.

However, as I tweeted yesterday our HOME record over the past 3 seasons is a worry - I didn't even realise how poor it was until I saw the figures down in black and white front of me. Strangely the last 3 years have been almost identical – you have to say we've been very consistent in that respect but for all the wrong reasons and it seems we have not learnt our lesson. Is this going to be the same yet again this season…?

I’m not sure how even the most positive of Palace supporters and fans can say that the above has been acceptable?

Now, before everyone gets the wrong end of the stick, this isn't a spoilt brat , toys out the pan rant, it's a genuine statement and question.

I've been a fan of Palace since my early teens when they used to give tickets out to the local schools to encourage us to swell the ranks at matches.

When i first could, i bought a season ticket and , along with a couple of friends began 'that' journey on the rollercoaster.

Over the years friends and family have changed and moved on, people have differing commitments and our day out has evolved.

Over the past 2/3 seasons i've begun to not enjoy the daily experience, mainly the football element. This past Saturday after that awful performance i genuinely felt like i didn't want to watch them again. Now, as I say, this isn't just because of this one match, its been building over time. I'm not a fairweather supporter either, it seems that the team are not providing any entertainment any more and its all becoming a bit drab and predictable.

Does anyone else feel the same way or begun to feel this way? I'm really considering the future of my season ticket ongoing from now....

When a few become bored or whatever it doesn't matter. Ticket sales aren't a very high % of revenue, there's always people to take your seat, and don't take this the wrong way but if you live overseas your stake in the club is either a tv subscription or a digit in Prem-tv company or tc company-media advertising agency numbers.

This is football now and if you don't like it then nobody is forcing you to go. I hated football years ago and had more committment and enjoyment from playing so only made midweek games. I came back for all home games but it is what it is.

If you don't like it then you don't have to go and frankly if you're going to boo when a lot of the time it isn't clear who the boos are intended at, then it's possibly for the best if you didn't go. We have come close before in helping to destroy all the progress we've made. Let's not risk it again.

Less pressure away from home.

The home fans get on the player's backs a lot more and abuse the manager (think Holloway, Allardyce & now De Boar)

For the self confessed 'greatest fans in the league' you'd think we'd have the spirit still that we had when we had in 2012. It may be the newer fans, the daytrippers, who knows but it's not like it used to be.

This. Once I leave the stadium I'm not really too fussed anymore. Definitely don't let it get me down.

Got to be honest and say the new style we are trying is a heap of tosh and seems to make things much worse.........but is it because we are just lacking talent?

The Championship is a lot more fun on the whole. Nothing quite like a promotion season, and even during the bad times it doesn't seem like there's impending disaster constantly round the corner like there is in the Premier League, there's less to lose. This league is unforgiving and the best you can hope for is to win half your home games (we should be so lucky) and a few away games.

The PL is a great league when you're upsetting the odds, but that's pretty rare and on the whole it's just a bit soul destroying.
