Judging by some of the media reports that I've read it was Sam when he was our manager that was after him in the summer so it's not surprising that when needing a striker for his new club that he returned to the same person

You think £27 mil is a lot the president of besiktas said they had an offer for £33 mil from China but Tosun wanted to play for Everton hence the reason for Everton having to up their bid

Perhaps. Let's remember that Everton had £75 million from selling Lukaku, their prized asset, to call on. Whereas we still have Wilf. It remains to be seen whether £27 million is money well spent.
