Well I don't mean to doom the hell out of this post but the "shopping list" that de boer had was fictional they gave him reidwald as his one and only signing as let's not forget how parish snatched de boers hand off when he said he could break eggs with a big stick when it came to the youth/devolpmental side of things so at the end of the day parish thought this is great I get a household name manager and get to save a few bob . Well I'm sorry to say this but wow how wrong was he ?

I'll now look upon transfer windows as being like an advent calendar, except knowing that every time ours will be without any goodies behind the tabs except the one for the last day .......and then I wont dare to open it in case thats empty as well.

I'm going to try and post something realistic while maintaining a positive attitude.

The window falls perfectly over the international break. The squad doesn't need to be fully formed as quickly as possible, with many of our best players either on international duty or injured.

Steve Parish said on his interview on BBC Five Live that our activity in the window would be drawn out to the last day. He never claimed we would be making signings before that necessarily. Just because clubs like West Brom and Everton have been active doesn't mean it's a set rule. Saints, Leicester and Spurs are just some of the clubs still looking.

We can't overspend. It's important that we try and get the best possible deals. Whether we buy Sakho or not, it is important that the club is sensible. £30m is a massive sum for a defender. There are minor details of the deal that we will try and swing in our favour and Liverpool need to sell tomorrow. It will knock £10m off the price if he's still there in January.
Also, we have had a terrible start. We're not preparing for relegation yet but we need to be careful regarding who we get in. We can't go QPR and sign a host of past it players like Shaun Wright-Phillips etc. Yes, the club has signed some turkeys but also the Bolasies of this world at the end of the window. Let's hope this time round is the same.

On a more positive note, FDB has recruited two good players in Loftus-Cheek and Fosu-Mensah. Jury's still out of Riedewald but it was barely more than we paid for much. Also, we have players like Jimmy Mac and Cabaye coming back to full fitness. This is a chance now for the coaching squad to reassess what we have without any misconceptions about just how badly we have been playing. They will be certain of the weaknesses and if Sammy Lee hasn't walked yet, it's a sign for me at least that he's willing to work to solve the problems.

I'm going to back Parish until the window shuts and our signings haven't materialised. Until then, let's wait. None of us have run Premier League clubs, so get behind the club I say.
