Even "Wolly" Mclaren won the Dutch league. After Big Sam most of us (I dare say) wanted Woy H. nowhere near the team - think that has taken a big turn now. OK, so we're the laughing stock for while if FdB leaves, but that will soon be forgotten when we start picking up some points...

what is he 70-odd? Imagine being that old and giving a fark about anything. It must be a struggle to get out of bed and stand up let alone deal with the stresses of Premier League management. He would be a pure mercenary and is not the answer to our situation.

If FDB is at the helm for both the Burnley and Southampton games and we lose both then it will be difficult to see him surviving for the game after that even though it will have only been 5 games into the season.

I don't know for sure but I get the feeling that FDB will be gone sooner rather than later.

Most of us did not want Woy.

Fwiw I wanted silva, Dyche or Pellegrino. Any of those. Fly back from Spain, exhaust the silva option and fly back to Spain for one of your 7 holidaymakers if not. Tap Dyche, Pellegrino until you realise Southampton are interested and stop time wasting.

Said all this then. Jordan said similar. We've gone from only going for prem experienced managers who play our way to one without prem experience or any experience comparable to this league and doesn't play our way and neither can we afford to.

Hopefully the pair of them have reached some understanding and a short and long term plan. Or he gets the inevitable wave and F off very soon.

Talk about an imbalance !

I'd say we've got 4 that we can actually rely upon - Sakho, Dann, Tomkins and Riedewald (think he's got good potential).

Kelly should not be near the team. Delaney is clearly past it (although playing in a back 3 - check the u23s losing goal against Forrest a few days ago, absolutely woeful).

With Sakho's welcome return the team that beat Arsenal Chelsea and Liverpool is now restored.

I can't see FdB selecting the same team though.

Allardyce knowing what players to play and getting them to do what he required was quite amazing.

Hard for anybody to follow that, how enlightened it would be for a leaving manager to be retained in an advisory capacity for a few months and let the new guy bed in.

Im guessing here but there was a row yesterday with the transfer dealings and we pulled the plug on Niase so we can pay Frank off. Something is going on. SP talks to the players and if they are unhappy with FdB then hr will act on it. Where is Frank anyway not heard diddlysquat from him for days

It's hard to follow if you're stubborn and suicidal fool. If not it can actually be a better team with Mensah at RB and cheek in a central 2 of cheek and Cabaye with Luka shielding. That team can still play football on the front foot. Mensah can get up and down, PVA can overlap all day long and cheek and Cabaye are highly reliable on the ball.

It's possibly the manager and supporters who doubt this possibility. Try to build this as a team for some stability when all are fit and we should be okay. Try being too clever for your own good and, well...

No managers have held pre match pressers.

Throw in two fullbacks and we could have two banks of four defenders; that should stop us conceding

If you read Parish's comments about the situation, he is giving absolutely no assurances about FdB. I suspect he has come to the same comclusion that many of us have (FdB doesnt fit) and will sack him at the week end. He probs wouldnt want to hold another lomg round of interviews and would go with Hodgson. He does after all have a wealth of experience, has successfully run PL clubs before, and is a pragmatist who will get the best out of players in the positions they are best suited to play in. A lot would depend on the coaching staff and how well drilled they are.

This all over. 451 is a a stronger first 11 than last year and much stronger than 343 (which still requires players playing out of position).

FdB will surely have to change - he'll be a complete fool if he doesn't. I actually felt he could have added something to us in a 451 system in terms of possession going forward but his stubbornness/ego/naivety in persisting with 343 is damaging the team and his own reputation. Surely Swansea 1st and 2nd halves have taught him something it's so obvious in terms of formation and players.
