Doubtful as he cannot be in any way match fit even if his knee is sorted - I don't expect to see him in Prem action for a while yet?

The club panicked and signed Sakho, because they felt that this move would appease the fans since all other moves fell through. This was a disappointing and disastrous transfer window. If we believe we should be on the Everton, West Brom level as the second tier of Premier League we need to make a plan, identify targets early and be decisive in those moves. Right now feels like no forward thinking only what can make us survive today. I though FdB was going to change that but the Board and fan base (booing every backward pass) isn't allowing it at this point. It's a little old Palace mentality and it's as if it's ingrained into the mindset of the club from top to bottom.

Is the correct answer. With Sakho in the back line Kelly and Ward for example were solid defenders. Without him they were not. That is not a coincidence. Similar effect on Hennessey and Dann. Tomkins continued to function after Sakho got injured; Dann we don't know because he was out too; Delaney went to pot completely but I suppose even Sakho cannot reverse aging.
