Have we got Worse Scouting network in the prem ?

Our bad scouting leads to us being so close to fpp. Your telling me that there isn't a better alternative than a mutch or PVA aboard instead of paying extrodianry fees. This is why the scouts let us down. Need a whole restructure.

PVA was signed in the same window as Sakho and Miliov, those two turned out class. But let's forget that and just focus on the ones that weren't complete successes. As if other clubs dont make mistakes, and every signing is spot on. Yeah ok. I'd also argue PVA was a good addition well needed at the time. Edited by Goldfiinger (02 Sep 2017 7.24pm)

Much was made of the lack of left sided players and pace in the side when we were going down last season. PVA and Schlupp both addressed this. Very selective and short memories among some.

Completely. We blew a hole in the finances to solve the problem and doubled down in case an injury. Injuries hit so it was lucky as many would argue without both we'd have been found wanting when it mattered most. Few months on and the board gets pelters for wasting money on PVA. Jokers.

I think you missed the point. Yes a left back was needed. Olson joined Swansea for 4.5m. We could of used a foreign loan had our scouts gave us options.

It might be foolish of me. But my impression is we've been trying to sign a fairly high standard forward all window but have had a budget of maybe £15m max. Various options for what ever reason didn't pan out. Maybe knowing they've got Andros, Wilf and Benteke in front of them have put the best options off signing? Just a hunch but my gut says we've been looking at decent forwards and didn't just want a 'back up'. Obviously i have no prof of this but all summer we've been linked with fairly decent forwards. Anyway my gut says the intent was there. Is that good enough? No

Hence all the last minute, hopelessly dysfunctional chaos, leaving us horribly exposed in the striker and goalie departments. Amateur night!

I agree we need a left back but why didn't we buy one of Schlupp or PVA and loan another one from abroad like santon for instance. This what I'm trying say, our scouts aren't given the current manager options from abroad. This is where we are lacking big time.

We had no left sided players fit and available at all and Sam obviously wanted proven prem players. Keep twisting and arguing if you want but probably best you go back to scouting.
