Not like we're the only team that's had £600mill income in the ladt 6 years though is it....

Hey I'm not saying faults haven't been made.

Why the hell we couldn't have signed a keeper and found some kind of forward option for the funds available even if limited and had these deals done.

Hugely frustrating but I look at the first XI and it is stronger than the season before, although two of those players we don't own so that's potential issue down the road.

£30m was spent in Jan which was to sort out our defence after what I'd say was the damage inflicted by our previous manager.

That's a huge amount of money for a Jan window and it's shouldn't be brushed aside. We all knew money would be tighter this summer becuase of it.

Have we struggled signing squad players, everyone wants so much... squad players are on stupid money themselves so it's likely not as simple as we think.

I'm hugely pleased with the Sakho signing and hope it's just what the team needs to get some form back.

But as always things can be looked at two ways...

Great starting XI best in years. With a couple players still needed for a balanced squad.

Or it could be said:

Shocking window were an injury away from being relegated.

Glass half full or half empty.

Truth is as always somewhere in between.

Apologies if I've snapped at anyone just I don't think it's as gloomy as it appears it others. At least I HOPE not.

We're all on the same side and want the same things, everyone sees things from a different point of view, it would be boring if we didn't!

As I understand it,85% of our income is spent on players wages.

We are not a massive worldwide club.our income stream is very limited.

Obviously with hindsight Jairo reidewald look a silly signing despite potential. With the supposed money of 8m given the 7m that we were prepared to pay. That 15m could on a striker. Example Hernandez. If we got RLC,Hernandez, TFM and Sakho. I could live with Hennessey for a season. How good does that look or even Perez.

Dan I just posted elsewhere regarding £15m on a forward, my gut says we've been trying to attract a £15m forward all summer and for one reason or another we didn't succeed. I don't think it was becuase we wasn't trying though.

That's just what my gut instinct says.

Maybe I've rose tinted glasses on but it did seem like we was being linked with a fair few. I expect we was working hard to get someone above Niasse level.

Gutted we haven't but I'm not gonna blame the board as my gut says they've been trying.

I think the opposite of what Salako is saying is true. Rather than demanding that we become a free-flowing passing side competing with the best, we just want to stick to our strengths and have a couple of safe seasons!
