Whilst we're lacking a bit in a couple of key areas a squad containing internationals like Cabaye, Benteke, Townsend, Zaha, Sakho, Milivojevic and MacArthur with a couple of quality loans doesn't seem like one lacking investment.

We've just made a mistake with the manager IMO and need to sort that as soon as.

what irks me is that fans act like a spoilt only child who gets everything they want and never face rejection or dissapointment, the even scarier think is a lot of these fans have supported thd club for years and should really know what 'the craic' is instead of having sky high expecations.

i feel this type of fan need to experience a good old fashioned relegation followed by a couple of years managed by francis or taylor with players like dele adebola who was so clumsy & awkward as a professional footballer he makes f***ing chamakh look like pele.

we do spend a fortune every season but that gives us no devine right to anything, all we are doing us keeping up with the jones' so to speak, and i feel our buisness has been decent this season. bournmouth spent roughly the same on nathan ake as we spent in sakho

lots of fans need to seriously re-assess their expectations, we were never promised top 10, and nobody in their right mind would expect top 10

I and a huge number of those posting on here have experienced all of that and more, but I don't feel the need to be "grateful" for the football we were served up in 2016 or the first three games of this season. I must have missed all these supposed posters with huge senses of entitlement, expecting top six finishes and European football. What I do see is the majority of dissenters happy to see us play to our current strengths, make the best use of the players we have, and enjoy a couple of seasons without a relegation battle. I don't accept that those are unreasonable expectations in our fifth consecutive season.

That's where your wrong mate. I've supported Palace since 97 through the Taylor and Francis era. It's parish has mentioned fans need to raise expectations. When you have 3 earners on 120k a week , I'm sure Steve parish isn't expecting a bottom 4 finish. We're not little old Palace. Look where we come from only gets you so far. Look at stoke for example never in a relegation battle. Is it too much to ask as Palace fans to have a similar path. Rather than changing managers to survive every season. It was Steve parish that said 84 day plan to get in top 10. Not the supporters on here or the stadium.
Do you believe the squad that parish and de Boer assembled is that capable of a top 10 finish. It was Steve parish that panicked and agreed to give mutch a 5 year deal, not us the supporters. We're now paying for it by poor scouting and neglected academy.

Rant over

Not one player has come through since Zaha. Look at what charlton have developed in the last 10 years. Lookman,Gomez,Shelvey and Jenkinson. The youth academy trains at goals. It should be a substantable product to produce players, instead of constant buying. I like Kai Kai and others but are they truly good enough.

I had a spare hour on holiday a couple of weeks ago, so I had a quick game of Fifa 2017. I challenge anyone to look at the Palace side in Fifa 2017 (as was in the summer of 2016) and not to accept that we have moved forwards.

As for Parish's tweet mentioned a few posts back, the tweet was dated 21 May 2017, Allardyce resigned on 24 May 2017. I am fully of the opinion that we would have been fighting for top 10 if Allardyce had still been the manager.

I haven't read all the posts going back, but we need to accept that Allardyce leaving, and the Neymar deal has changed things.

We also have to accept that we are Crystal Palace and not other clubs. Parish spends an age on player recruitment, but does not waste money. I was particularly taken with the following in this window:

Stoke and Imbula, he was signed in 2016 for £18 million and has done so badly that he was loaned to Toulouse in 2017.

West Ham and Snodgrass, signed for £10 million in 2017 and loaned to Aston Villa a few months later.

These is clear profligacy and Parish would be crucified if he did the same thing.

I am not saying that Parish is perfect, but I would sooner have him than many of the other Chairmen that we have had in my time supporting Palace.

Charlton are in League One, it is easier to bring players through when they are playing in the lower divisions. I personally don't believe that enough players will ever come through until the big boys are able to twin with feeder clubs in the lower divisions. I mean, where is Lookman now? Sitting on the bench for Everton?

Ok so let's look at things then.

We've just had planning permission turned down. But the plan is to totally rebuild and upgrade the training complex. So becuase Bromley have said no suddenly the club has no desire?

We've just employed a manager seasoned in bring through players from academies and watched during preseason him blood some.

Two of which may well make more appearances this season.

So actually the club are trying to rebuild the training ground and are trying to employ and manager (you want sacked after three games) to bring youth through.

You seem to want everything yesterday and aren't willing to give the club a chance to grow. Which clearly they are trying to do...

I hope Frank has seen how tough the Prem is and adapts before Parish is forced to sack him. As it's clear that Frank will be great for our academy.

You ask me why the academy neglected. That's my opinion, yours may differ but we all Palace at the end of the day. Coyp

Yeah it's just your opinion ignores everything the club is trying to do.

If Bromley had said yes, and we'd drawn at Liverpool and Frank hadn't tried his 'master plan' against Swansea then I feel your views might be a lot different. Which to me says we're not far away from what we all want.
