It's not as heroic as it looks on TV. Once the storm has passed, even if your abode remains intact, you have days / weeks without power or running water; then there's the heat, bugs, rats and mold; no ability to get around; no supplies at the gas station or grocery store; you're away from work so might not be getting paid. And, again, that's if you're lucky enough to have a habitable abode...

It's a s***-show for which I vehemently recommend against volunteering.

Every looter is a person of colour - what a disgrace BBC, stereotyping people of colour, surely they could have a found a person of non-colour to feature. Just been watching footage of looters in Miami. Every looter is a person of colour - what a disgrace BBC, stereotyping people of colour, surely they could have a found a person of non-colour to feature.
