I don't want to be rude or anything,but why don't you do one,we had plane's in the air just after.
I really don't see the point of putting them before and in harms way....what happens if they get injured or worse,and the equipment they bring gets damaged....havent really thought that through have you.

No just seems sensible,and you would have dig at the government for anything,even if you know nothing about it.

Believe the French troops were normally stationed on the island anyway as the islands are treated as being more a part of France than the British islands which have far more independence and as such do not have British troops stationed there.
Having said all that I tend to agree that HMG could have been better prepared and despatched the first aid earlier.

Well if they are stationed there,they are there first.
We had a plane in the air the day after,with aid and royal engineer's.

Not all of them but for a section of them nowadays, most definitely.....most of them more misguided than malicious.
