I don’t like to post negative stuff about fellow fans, but for you idiots calling for his head after the Brighton game, you can now sit down and shut up. We won today because of is tactical nous and experience, simple as that.
He’s a superb coach and I for one think we are very lucky to have him.

On my way back from the match, agree 100% with Stirling, he had City well stuffed and the players carried out his instructions perfectly.

Roy really has done wonders for us, not just today. He has got us playing as a unit and to a degree very good and attractive football. Our results this season have not until today reflected our performances. For me, he is by far the best we have had in charge for a very long time. So, happy Christmas Roy and thanks for making mine!!

Overheard a bloke at Selhurst last week saying Roy had one game to save his job.

He'd heard a whisper Roy had lost the dressing room.

Which goes to show what utter tosh people talk at football.

Well done all at cpfc today.

That never looked the case but the lack of in game management and same thing every week with lack of ideas and players not really playing in their natural positions was a real concern. Well done to anyone who never doubted him but most with experience and knowledge of the game would have because there were some serious things that you can’t be sure to survive if they aren’t addressed.

18 points from 18 games with no striker is not to be sniffed at. Doing a good job with what he's got.

Utter madness that people were calling for his head after the Brighton game. It’s embarrassing how short sighted some people are. Some seem to expect success over night, but sadly that’s the reality for many modern day fans.

It’s clear that he has been doing an excellent job with limited resources for a long time. Performances have been consistently good but we haven’t had the results. Today over 90 minutes City were the better team but we took our chances exceptionally well and had a bit of luck on our side.

Congratulations Roy, you’ve deserved a result. This will keep the wally’s quiet until our next defeat.

Win against Cardiff and the pressure is off. Hopefully we can push for a cup run.

No you mean people like you who think they know more than Roy find every excuse to have a go at him ,
Those with experience and any knowledge of the game do not doubt him actually watch the games and see he week in week out puts the best available team to him out on the pitch and gives them the best possible game
Plan to get something out of any given game.
Sometimes the luck goes against you, as in Brighton given a two goal start ,and sometimes like today all is perfect.
We are not sure to survive anyhow just like 12 other teams because some of it is down to luck , but we have the best possible manager for us in charge to give us our best possible chance .

People like me? Do you even watch football or know what you’re talking about?

And no, what Roy was doing was what England managers have done in recent history. He was picking the best players and shoe horning them into positions they don’t suit. When subs are needed, even just rest legs, Roy was preferring to use none. Think Chelsea away for the best example. We thought originally it was because he had nobody on the bench to put on but since seen he doesn’t put them on at all, or maybe for a 10 minute run out when it’s too late.

I never called for his head, but I did say concerns were growing. We’ve been playing well but there were still issues of what we were doing in the final 3rd. We beat a poor Burnley and Leicester for that matter at home but when we faced a challenge at Brighton we were pathetic again. Versus Man City we were fortunate that for a change we took all of our chances and they missed theirs to get a result.

Not taking anything away from Roy and the team because they’ve dug themselves out of it but please don’t try and pretend there weren’t and probably still aren’t causes for concern. Or do so if you like. Our current methods will be found out by others, as happens at this level, and there will be tests of unavailable players in the front 6. What will Roy do then? Admit defeat by playing people out of position in the permanent 4-4-2, rather than change it up a bit to deal with the selection limitations, or be a bit flexible?

You may be suffering with a bit of memory loss going by the posts of people losing enthusiasm or interest earlier this season. It certainly was dour stuff but hopefully we can kick on from here because although we’re on a high after that result, the team must remember they beat 2 poor teams at home and took their chances from 22% of possession vs Man City but then when faced with an equal battle vs Brighton we crumbled to pieces. They kind of looked like they were complacent, believing their own hype vs Brighton. Do that again and we will get beaten convincingly.

Yes you , and yes I do and more so than you.

No further debate required as you will argue black is white in any disagreement.

Merry Christmas.
