I think you might need new specs. Kouyate is the only central player apart from Meyer who runs forward with the ball. He drives at the opposition which draws players towards him, yet we ignore this use and play 3-4 sideways passing central midfielders but then donít allow full backs to overlap. Are you catching on yet?

Well said.
Meyer is going to end up at a team that'll play to suit his strengths and we'll look like right mugs.

Hodgson plays the same tactical formation despite and irrespective of, the quality of the opposition. He did the same whilst England manager. Basically it's a park the bus scenario which cedes the midfield to the opposition and hopes to effectively work on the break.
With the squad available I think we have far more possibilities than what we see under his one dimensional tactical approach.

Lets see what happens when he is allowed to bring in a couple of players OK, then I'll agree with you if with a more competent midfield set up we play exactly the same because I see our midfield apart from two possibly are well below what we need to hurt teams at home with the sort of football you want to see.

Hodgson did well with England, you are falling into that hole about thinking the players were actually better then they actually were.
England is very average, especially when facing technical ability.

..is going to! the problem is he will look a lot better because the players around will be a lot better, I didn't say he doesn't have talent and wont improve ..put him into Wolves for example now and he will still look lost though, needs more experience.

I donít want to divert this thread because this has happened on this subject before, but, Hodgson beat all the cr@ppy countries in qualifiers and then when it came to anyone half decent, or Iceland ffs, not a flaming clue. Kane at corners LAUGH OUT LOUD.

Hodgson is not a big team manager but heís a safe pair of hands for our size. But please donít fool yourself heís maximising our chances of cup or attractiveness progress if you like. Same tactics all the time. At first we thought it was because he had no choice. Wrong. No subs or in game management vs the opposition and their manager.

I accept Roy as manager but it isnít progressive, entertaining or something you look forward to. Itís a chore during a time we need to stay in the league to get the stand done, but if it isnít done itíll seem like a waste all round.

He's had 3 transfer windows already and the signings have been less than inspired.

I do get the feeling that often (maybe not always) players are identified by people other than Roy and are bought in and Roy just works with them on the training ground and picks where and how he wants them to play.
That's not always a bad system except one day Freedman and Parish might just blow a truck load of money on someone that Roy just doesn't rate/want. This is why I prefer the Allardyce way of signing players. Manager has complete control of who comes and who goes. PVA is a perfect example in that Sam knew exactly how he would slot into our first 11 before he even arrived.

I think you could take the stadium redevelopment out of the equation. With or without that, the first priority is to stay in the Premier League. And Hodgson is a safe pair of hands in that respect.

While I am pro-Roy, I do accept some of the criticism levelled at him.

But if I was a CEO and major shareholder in a multi million pound business then I would want to work with people I trust and have confidence in. And that is the SP/RH relationship.

I agree with that. Fans that go to away games will not agree, but to be successful in this league with the standard of players we can afford some of the games will definitely not be attractive, sadly well too many at home. Roy like Alan Curbishley is a safe pair of hands for our club.

Some poor moments at home this season but to add some context to the ďnegativeĒ football;

Palace 0 Southampton 2 BBC MOM Alex MaCarthy
Palace 0 Newcastle 0 BBC MOM Martin Dubravka
Palace 0 Spurs 1 Hugo Lloris
Palace 1 Watford 2 Ben Foster
Palace 0 Cardiff 0 31 shots
Palace 1 West Ham 1 25 shots
Palace 2 Burnley 0 29 shots

Personally prefer we play badly and get a result but nonetheless think some of football has been better than suggested.

Without those 6 pts they wouldn't be safe now but in the bottom 3 !

Let's see SP and the board trying to line up for a piss in the AW toilets at half time before peddling the new stand. We're the Arthur over here and the facilities are a disgrace
