I agree. We are not in a comparable position. We have one alternative striker, Ladapo, who's been unfancied by every manager since he's been here. All the other U23 suggestions are midfielders and, if we're going to play anyone out of position, surely it should be one of the more experienced professionals? Plus, in our position, we certainly don't want to be playing inexperienced players in positions where we already have senior cover (which is everywhere except up front).

Generally agree, but remember that "senior" is not synonymous with "not s***e". Lameka looked better than Lee, for example.

That was Josh Harrop who scored in the final game of the season. He is now at Preston.

I would suggest it is a bit different, a team like Man Utd introducing a youngster in a game which meant precious little, to introducing such a player in our current predicament. All depends on the quality of the team, circumstances and quality of the player concerned.

Was the under 23's and Pogba. We had a shocker. Suspect they could do the same on Sat to be honest and roll us over.

Please no more Adebayors, Lamberts or Coles! This is the time to give our young ones a chance to shine - and lift the spirit of fans (and hopefully, team mates).
They can't do any worse than our injured top striker anyway - and prepare us (and them) for the coming season whatever division we play in.

I have said it before and I will say it again until I am blue in the face ...

We have youth players ... an academy ... what is the point of all this if we will not try out a promising one or two youngsters who are dying to play for Palace ....

Give them a punt ........

while we insist on hiring mercenary managers with only short-term ambitions they are never going to have our youngsters' development in mind. They want experienced mercenary players to give them the best chance of unlocking their end of season bonus. This is why we will never move on as a club because we have no long term plan or manager that has any use for an academy.

They will be overwhelming favourites and be expected to win comfortably, however they have had a long arduous trip to Moscow this week and this could have an effect on their performance.

4 hours on a private jet must be killer....

Apart from actually playing the match what could have a detrimental effect on their performance ?

And was the exact same reason we appointed FDB.

Are you saying these long European excursions don't have any effects on premier league teams?

That's a new one.

Let's be honest they have a huge squad and will rotate players. As evidenced last season even their youth team would comfortably beat us.
