Lukaku was a top striker who commanded a fee of £75 Mill rising to £90 Mill.

Not disrespecting Everton but I think strikers of that quality and ilk would be in demand by bigger clubs and might prefer to go elsewhere.Always difficult for such sides to replace like for like, hence they spread the money across a few players.

What, 8 of them? That's one way of not being able to afford a striker.

I was speaking in general terms, not specifically about Everton.I believe Everton's net spend was £45 Mill which isn't that excessive in PL terms and with Mr Moshiri as owner perhaps they could have afforded an expensive striker.Maybe they tried but were thwarted in their efforts.

Difficult to find a striker like Lukaku who in his last 3 seasons scored on average nearly 30 goals a season. They did sign Sigurdsson who has averaged about 15 goals a season in his last 3 seasons which is excellent for a midfielder.

Bought too many players like Spurs did when Bale left. Always a risk. The only one of those still st Spurs is Erikssen. The other 7 have gone. And Everton are light up front. Not as light as us, but seeing as they sold a striker for £75mil + addons of £20mil or whatever to not buy a striker but just Rooney, who now deeper, is bad.

Agreed Rudi,
If you sign to many players each season unless they are better than what you have you can quite easily weaken the "team".
We now have 7 new lads since January.
Up to Roy now to sort us out.
And we will find out how good Koeman is.

Koeman has made 4,5,6 changes in all games except one where he's made 3. No continuity added to having no understood method to supply a striker. No wonder Spurs tore them apart.
