I've heard why this wasn't going to work and it isn't Parish. I can understand that being how it is. That isn't a rumour because I know where it's come from. Probably not for this thread.

Also there's speculation Parish wanted Frank out before the season started. I don't know when exactly but I can understand why. I'd have had him out after Frank's training ground interview unless Frank heeded some warnings.

What did he say that was so bad?

Is this a joke thread?

Pardew should have been sacked long before we finally got rid of him. No chance would he have turned things around.
If we had stuck with him any longer we'd have been playing Championship Football.

I have no sympathy for Pardew, The times he outwardly blamed his players and virtually everyone else for the poor form over his full term was disgusting, He shoulders the blame for team tactics, And good riddance to him. But the biggest offender (IMO) The muppet Mr Golden balls ( Parish) would be better in the gallery of Spitting image. We have all seen through the Mr nice guy image he portrays, We really are now the joke of Football and in danger of going down, And with our wage bill, If that does happen We could well end up back where we were in administration

'Gradual' and 'results over style'.

Whether or not he said that in interview with Parish, he lied to the fans in the training ground interview and I highly doubt it was agreed by Parish to go full steam ahead, change as much as possible and lie to the fans via the interview for the fans on the training ground.

I agree with this post. Seeing Pardew talking sense in the Sky studio inevitably made me wish he was in the dressing room.
Last season, Pardew and Parish agreed to try a new style of football. It went wrong, we lost a lot of games, panicked and sacked an intelligent manager who was fully committed to the club and was signed up for the long term.
In his place we brought in Allardyce to go back to basics and save our skin - which he did. Then this season we repeat the whole cycle again.
De Boer is brought in to get us playing a new style of football, it goes wrong, we panic, sack him and bring in Roy to go back to basics and save our skins. And maybe he'll succeed.
But anyone reviewing the last 12 months must wonder if we wouldn't have been in a much better position now (and in the future) had we stayed with Pardew.
As Marx said, history repeats itself, the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce.

We'd have been better off than Pardew or Roy if we went with Dyche or Parish dropped one of his 7 holidays, flew back to London and gazumped watford for silva and just kept trying and trying. Instead he was star struck and fooled by Frank and saw the money he'd save on youngsters but as soon as he started he worked out what had happened.

Why doesn't this statement from you surprise me?

In the 4 games prior to Pardew's sacking we had won 1, drawn 1, lost 2 (against Man U and Chelsea) and scored 7 goals in those 7 games (7 more than the last 5 games under 2 different managers)
Palace were an exciting team to watch back then, you never knew when the next goal was coming. Now we dont look like scoring.

The season before that we stayed up and reached the FA Cup Final and only narrowly lost to Man United. The season before that Pardew guided us to 10th, having taken over when we were looking sure fire relegation candidates.

Shame on you and all those who called for Pardew's head. Clearly it seems Steve parish is a big twitter fan, reads the internet and was influenced.

This is your legacy.

Reminds me of the Charlton fans who wanted Alan Curbishley sacked, because they wanted to move to the next level, and look where they are now...

It is all about opinions but how can anyone defend Pardew at CPFC?
He took over an ailing side with potential and got the most out of them in his first half season - brilliant!
Instead of trying to build on that in his first full season he set about destroying it to pander to his own whims and fancies and for a while we were flying but it was house of cards which soon came tumbling down in spectacular fashion and in the second half of that season we took 11 points (I believe) from 19 games - a fact disguised by a great Cup run.
Even then - 8 minutes before the end of the game when we scored Pardew jigged instead of getting the players over, getting them to slow the game down and frustrate United - but no Pardew did a bloody jig - t*** - and we lost.
The next 19 games were more of the same and he was rightly sacked - 19 games too late!
Highlights that season were taking Jimmy Mac off five times when we are were either drawing or winning and we proceeded to lose points on every occasion.
The best one of course 1-1 with Utd at Palace with a few mins to go and he takes off a midfield player (Jimmy Mac from memory) and subs him with a forward!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We lost!
He is a joke Manager and we are well rid but his transfer policy lives on and is still giving us grief today!

You're as bad as Croydonlad for trying to force your opinions down everyone's throats at every given opportunity. It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't just based on speculation and guesswork

I assume the OP was joking? Most of our problems can be linked back to South Londons self styled 'special one'.

I was a fan of pardew, he was a great fit for our club, even last year if you watch the games, we was never as bad as we are now and always looked not far off being a decent team but it's a results business and you can't defend the decision to sack him, any manager at any other club would of got the sack the same time aswell.
