I am baffled by our quite staggering decline over the last two seasons when we have, on paper, perhaps one of the best squads we have had in a long time (ever in my memory at least). Where is the team that finished 11th then 10th? What on EARTH has precipitated such a disaster? The timing seems to be around the appearance of the Yanks but you can't say they haven't put the money in (apart from the debacle of the recent transfer window that is...)

I don't necessarily think we are already screwed this season - far too early and Hodgson has had no time as of yet - but looking medium term we have been s***e for a while... just when we were on the cusp of perennial mid-table stability. I am pretty sure, looking back on threads from a few seasons back, that older posters said 'it's the Palace way to screw it up'. Well, you seem right! But why is that?

Confidence is shot to pieces, once we go a goal behind, game over.
Roy has a hell of a job, not impossible, but he needs a few lucky breaks.

Completely agree, stoic patience is the name of the game for us for quite a while to come, we also suffer from the lack of confidence which is adding to the problems at home games. I just hope Roy is made of the stuff that will help the players get through this.

Being taught to play like Barcelona and then like Fulham team of a ymfew years back.. Very regimented rather than free flowing.. Mall in the space of five games has probably done the players heads in

Assuming we end up eight games gone and nulle points we will have eleven games left until the halfway point and we will need to win six of them if we aren't to be cut adrift by then.

Starts with the owners.

Players going through so many managers isn't good.

Hold it I thought Roy Hodgson's direct style would be the answer for these players? It shouldn't take ANYTIME for these guys to get the Direct Style of Roy Hodgson. After all the direct style is the ONLY way we can play. Maybe just maybe it isn't that at all. Maybe just maybe it's the players like Joel Ward, Wayne Hennessey, Jason Puncheon, James McArthur, Bakary Sako, and Chung-yong Lee are not Premier League quality now or ever in some instances. Maybe the Board, Chairman Saint Steve (genuflect when you say that Pal), and the Americans should've backed Frank de Boer in the Summer Transfer Window. #HodgsonOut

Hasn't done Watford any harm!

Swansea have a fair churn of managers as well.

This period of games which falls in November will, in my opinion define our season. We have a block of 5/6 games all against mid table to lower table teams.

How we fare in this period will determine our fate I believe.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

After 11 and a few more the rest aren't good enough which is why Frank should've waited for his 'revolution' after promising 'evolution.' Or at least we had a full strength 11 and maybe some points, confidence and momentum but alas, he didn't want to consider that.

He and Parish were responsible for the transfers. Parish is generally late and rumour is Frank either lacked input or wasn't interested in particular players or changed his mind. He's used to not having to do it. He should've been sacked as soon as they realised he was rushing the project and well before the season.

Could it be that we have a squad full of players on the decline?
Cabaye
Puncheon
Dann
Tomkins
McCarther

All nearing 30 or over. Add

Ward
Benteke
Henessey

Who are in poor form and confidence shot and we don't have the nucleus for a team that is going to survive. I worry that we can only play one way and have no plan B regarding a striker. It doesn't look good to me.
