precisely, why don't we let the chairmen who got us to the prem, and kept us in it for 5 years get on with his job and we just simply support the team like fans are supposed to do...

We haven't stopped Parish doing his job. He's managed that by himself and frankly he should have either experienced advice or someone experienced calling it because each error added together is curtains.

FDB for me every day. If he upset a few players then so be it. The so called Palace DNA has got to be changed. Leaving the midfield wide open and having everybody on the 18 yard line is not going to win you many games and is not entertaining.

Really ?
Its won us enough to keep us up for the past 4 years
Lets see how we do this year after giving teams a 5 game start because of him

I'm feeling a lot more positive after Saturday. It wasn't a game I'd usually expect anything from and we still looked like a team low on confidence, but we played well, created chances and had a lot more fight. It still seems like some things just aren't clicking and on occasions we are trying to force things a bit too much but that seems to be out of desperation and a temporary lack of confidence.

Huddersfield in the league cup tomorrow plus the next 3 league can be treated almost like friendlies, if we get any points it will be a bonus (have they got midweek European fixtures?). The subsequent games v Newcastle and West Ham are far more important.

We've still got Wilf and Sakho to come back.

To be honest, from what I saw of de Boer's 'style' of football, I thought it was a total yawn-fest. Keeper to defender, to another defender, to another defender, to midfield, back to keeper and repeat. If that's 'possession football' then they can keep it.

A Birmingham supporter said to me the other day that Zola tried to get players to pass out from the back but that Birmingham never had the players to do so.When Zola joined Birmingham they were 8th, when he left they were 20th.

Well at least our defenders have nearly mastered it. They always look as if they are about to pass out whenever the ball comes their way.

I thought you were harsh on FDB, but you ultimately were proved right.
I find this blaming of Parish and the board difficult to understand, they employ people to do a job, who on past record should be able to achieve this. Then Parish and Co get let down by the entire coaching team and players, how on earth is it their fault, they have purchased players in every window.
The board have become a victim of their own success, let down by supposed football professionals.

they employed FDB to do a job and didn't let him do it. Nothing can be achieved in four games. The fear of change in South London is rife

In answer to the original question, I'd have stuck with FDB.

I'd agree, for now, game by game basis. But we're not having to work with him and by all accounts it's not a very smooth experience. Then there's discarding players and calling them back in, plus lots more. If he had a fully equipped squad already there I think he might be okay. If at another club, after more of what we just saw.

I don't blame him, I don't necessarily blame the players and I don't like to blame anyone.

The one overwhelming constant however, is the board who I think has let fan expectation and the glamour of the Premier League go to their head and has clouded their judgment 100%.

I don't post on here much, but heard Steve Parish interview last night and he is hurting as much as the rest of us. He was open and honest and also brave to come on to face the onslaught.

We were unlucky not to score on Saturday (Forster had two goal bound shots hit him on various parts of the body that could have gone anywhere... but stayed out) and even unluckier not to score the week before.
It's there fine margins that have caused almost hysteria around Selhurst Park.

My opinion
To me..... appointing Roy was the right decision.
We could have waited, but it would have taken longer to get the spirit back........

I think we all agree that the passing football we were playing was very good, but we just didn't have the players to execute it at pace, under the pressure of other premiership players closing us down.
Most of our goals against came from us giving the ball away under pressure.
It's obvious to me that after 3 games we wouldn't win another playing like that and playing the formation we did against Burnley we would win most.
If I can work that out then so can the players.
If we go back to 4-3-3 we don't need De Boer because he's not used to playing like that.
Roy (or Sam) are.
And would be more experienced managers playing in that style.
If you read the article below.. De Boer's man management skills were not conducive to a good team spirit.

We've seen worse... most of the time.
We've been better .. a few times... not may to be honest!!

Remember we are still in the premiership ... we've got the best squad on paper we've ever had assembled at the club... EVER.
We just need leadership and everyone pulling in the same direction.... and that includes US... we can play our part Saturday.

We'll never know the full story, but let's get behind the team Saturday and get the place rocking again.

And anyone who doesn't think Roy's methods for achieving results at this level are any good... his statistics are pretty conclusive and very consistent.

It's a brave decision by our owners to make this decision so early, but the right one.

We can help change the mood on the pitch by getting behind the team.

I don't expect anything out of the next 3 games... if we get a point from those I will be happy.

It's from the Newcastle game I am looking for points.
We need leadership, organisation, a game plan and coaching drills to help the players execute the game plan on the pitch.
We've been in this situation before and gotten out of it.

Some stats about Roy...

35% - Roy Hodgson's win percentage as a Premier League manager.
Blackburn 35%
Fulham 34%
Liverpool 35%
West Brom 36%.
Consistent.
