Blessing in disguise?

I know it sounds counterintuitive but is it possible that today's result - and more importantly - performance could prove to be a blessing in disguise? The 0-4 debacle against Sunderland last season turned out to be a real turning point in the battle for survival as it provided the management with solid evidence of the shortcomings of the team and the need for the players to buy into BFS's philosophy in order to turn things around. We secured 19 points out of 27 in the subsequent games after that disgraceful showing at Selhurst - way worse than today's piss-poor showing - so the players know it's somewhere within them to go on a good run. Could this latest shambles be a similar watershed game for the squad to wake up and realise that another remarkable turnaround in attitude/application is now required? Roy will have to ruffle a few feathers when he addresses the glaring shortcomings of the current side, with many of the senior players (take your pick,,,,,,) having to shoulder the blame for the pitiful start to the season. He'll surely have make some unpopular decisions in the coming days so his hand can only be strengthened when the players look back at a performance as woeful as today's and ask themselves 'did I really do enough not be dropped'?

I can only speak for myself but personally I'm getting a bit tired of the need for turning points.

Or blessings in disguise or any other such use of words to turn around the situation for the better,

It looks more like a great steaming pile of f***ing s***e from where I'm sitting. YMMV.
