At the time I cannot remember to many Holers saying we need a backup for Papa.
Obviously you aim to get two good players for every position.
Nobody new Papa was going to play 'Hunt the Shunt' on the Motorway.
As you mentioned earlier Pardew must take some blame and Flamini was not needed.
Striker agreed with,Pardew tried and failed twice on the goaly front.

There were people saying we needed another left footed defender because Fryers was a joke.

Souare could get injured, so can Benteke. A car accident is not an excuse. Footballers get injured. There's no excuse for not having a single established left footed defender able to cover Lb, and then go and buy 2 when it's public knowledge you've taken liberties there.

Flamini was not needed? Yes we were so tight at def mid weren't we? 2 goals conceded from our own corners at Burnley, a winning position at Swansea and then capitulation. Ginger walking through us at hull? I guess you're not aware of Freedman's post match analysis on tv regarding our lack of strength at def mid?

Mate, your default defence of this rubbish has so many flaws it's staggering.

None of this sh1t lands on our lap on the 30th August with 24 hours to sort it. It's by choice and then it ends up costing more, only this time a lot lot more.

I actually now think relegation is the only thing that will teach Parish so that is my silver lining rather than all that false number 9 and any other desperate bollox. The unfortunate thing is promotion for us will be like a roll of a dice after 1 or 2 seasons, and even then it's a big challenge with a whole new team.

The people behind this deserve this and there's very little chance to 'correct it' once the window is shut and only past it forwards are available. Us fans, when its plain to see it unfolding, do not.

Its a shame you haven't the funds to buy out Parish, because you talk a good game.
Those games we lost that you mention were due to Pardews lack of game management rather than missing a DM.
We are where we are Wilf to come back,Roys the Manager.
Lets hope we start winning after Chelsea.

The funds were there to buy the lb and def mid. They contributed to the fvck up then and meant we had to buy 2 in January to be even more sure with the danger we were in.

They're also there to get a forward. Repeat the contribution to the fvck up.

Freedman's appointment arose from FDB's weakness in the transfer market.

Has managed three clubs and his team formed the core that kept us up first couple of years. A good judge IMO.

it's not FDB's job to sign transfers, he says where he needs recruitment and what sort of player

Why not? The Chairmen of public companies stand or fall by their company's results and in a club like ours where the chairman likes to be the driving hand behind almost everything he should also stand or fall by the club's performance

As we're not a PLC we can't use shareholder power to dislodge members of the board, but what he does need to do is accept that the footballing side is not his forte, and that he needs to concentrate on the finances, etc., and leave the transfers, style of play, etc. to those who actually understand them.

Nor is the overall infrastructure.

Someone remind me again why Parish has been self-appointed Club custodian for all these last seven years? Well past his sell by date.

I don't disagree, I was just avoiding banging the infrastructure drum as we've enough problems on the pitch at the moment. I do think we could have done more in seven years, but that's just my opinion.

He's not even non-exec Chairman - he's a fully salaried executive Chairman, with day to day involvement. No slopey shoulders - the direction comes from the Board and that is where accountability should reside.
