If players had concerns about de Boer, then who else would they raise it with? Would you prefer they had been more public? Things clearly weren't right under FDB, above any issues with Parish. It wasn't Parish who insisted on playing a formation we weren't suited to, or suddenly introducing Joel Ward as a wing back? Parish sees this on a daily basis and if the players were looking as confused in training as they did on the pitch then I'm not surprised he decided to make a change. Likewise, in terms of players we have bought and sold, by the sounds of it the two he has worked hardest to bring in have been Zaha and Sakho, and I think most Palace fans would say they were worth it and wanted them to happen? Was he 'interfering' when he backed managers to bring in players like Mandanda or Riederwald?
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

It was Parish that wanted to change the formation to a more passing game and the only reason that Joel Ward was playing as a wing back was because Parish didn't buy a proper one. If Parish sees the players looking confused on the training pitch every day then that just proves my point as he shouldn't have been anywhere near the training ground. Originally posted by Username

This thread is full of conjecture about what SP has and hasn't done without much fact really being known. He's certainly been involved in a couple of poor decisions with regard to de Boer's appointment and the lack of forwards although personally I'd rather see a kid put in over Fraizer Campbell and think that RLC would be decent. A couple of recent things come to mind about his supposed interference in team matters. One being that Allardyce made a point of saying he'd been backed "big time" in the January window. The other that Allardyce was happy enough to let him into the dressing room after the Sunderland game to rinse the overpaid and underperforming players. A manager will establish targets and transfer policy / funds discuss with the Chairman and / or recruitment personnel. One or both will then engage with agents. I think Allardyce himself said Defoe was too much money. If the Guardian is to be believed de Boer had little or no idea of the transfer market. With regard to the Twitter stuff, although perhaps unwise who really cares ? Just tried to defend himself a bit when he was getting battered on forums and social media.

Nobody complained when Campbell went, he was regularly slated on here. You need to stop posting so much and clear your head.

Is it because the wad comes out in January windows when we're desperate and get overcharged, or is it because like all the ex pros employed at the club, its the norm to have a flick through that list first? To think and value Campbell at £8mil or 9 is so desperate for a reason for this it's untrue. Then finally the more modest sensible bids did come out. Just so late we were there to be taken advantage of.

No. We'll be saying he's been yet again incredibly lucky after taking liberties with this league. I don't think he will be that lucky again, but if he is, it'll be because Roy's excellence in dealing with this shower he's having to use and not because of any 'clever' move by Parish. Make no mistake, having one striker in any league, especially the richest and most competitive leagues over the whole season, is not clever. Negligent is what it is.
