For real? we've been there and Dann melted as Captain, even Dann i'm sure would agree, the arm band shouldn't go to him.

Lets remember the players did apparently beg for Sakho to be signed, they know and respect his class. Don't think it would put any noses out of joint.

Also we're talking about a player who was captain of PSG first team at the age of 17! He's a born leader.. People only get pissed when they think someone has taken there job, in this instance theres clearly a vacancy that so far none of them have been able to occupy.

Sakho, nailed on captain material in my mind.

I completely agree. We need someone with natural leadership ability (if not a bit of a psycho) to get these players performing. Let's be honest not much is going to come from the kind gentleman on the touchline so we need a really strong personality on the pitch. Dann is not the right character imo...I'm not even sure he's good enough to be in the starting xi.

I'm bumping this thread to stick my head above the parapet.

Is Roy brave enough? I think that today's selections would prove so.

Delaney is the natural leader of this squad: a gung-ho type with a dose of psycho, who rolls his sleeves up and rallies those around him, always ready with the arm around the shoulder. Yes, he may not be the most stylish of players, but sometimes you need players like him in the trenches.. and we are in the trenches. He's got the bottle for it and I don't get that feeling from any other player in the squad.

Regarding Sakho: he had a poor game today imo. His body language was terrible, he didn't communicate with his team mates, he was often caught facing the wrong way and gave away two goals: one with an attempted showboat pass that went wrong, when he should have hoofed it.. and one with a godawful schoolboy header mistake, reminiscent of Birchenall at his worst. It was clear today that he is not the Messiah: he's just another centre half with delusions of grandeur. When defending their attacks, I caught him time and again not marking anyone, just standing facing the wrong way. I also sensed some resentment between him and some team mates, which is to be expected. (See previous posts in this thread). He needs to knuckle down, roll his sleeves up and get on with the job. To be a good professional footballer requires hard work and dedication: all I got from him today was arrogance. He needs to sort out his attitude, which may explain why Liverpool wanted rid and why nobody else seemed that interested in him. He needs a lot of work, in my opinion, in order to become a Beckenbauer, rather than a Balotelli.

And he needs to sort out that injury that he's obviously carrying, too.

Jesus , Sako has one bad game and you slag him off. He had to cover for ward, delaney (who whatever you say shouldn't be anywhere near the first team) and PVA, who were all s**t. I was watching him too, and I lost count of the number of times he was pulled out of position to cover one of the fullbacks.

Fair points and all a bit worrying, that we've somehow spent 60 million pounds on two players that are not performing, this season.

I am not 'slagging him off'. I'm trying to constructively criticise the player, in order to help him and the team. There's a difference.

I saw him out of position but he was rarely successful in covering for anybody, which btw is part of what a CB is supposed to do.

Apart from your criticism being anything but "constructive" (and in my opinion inaccurate), as for "helping", neither the player, nor the team, will either read nor give a flying fcuk what you think.

That's a pity Dave. Palace for years but when things go wrong begin attacking each other. What will be will be and we'll all be there next season as we we're when Vegetables almost bankrupt the club. We're all Palace so let's enjoy the ride.

Another urban myth! You have some very strange thoughts, Adrian, which bear very little relation to the facts.

Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it..
