I watched The Debate last night for the first time ever and was quite impressed by what Simon Jordan had to say. I know that it's official HOL policy to moan about him and decry anything he says and does but he talked a lot of sense.

I'm guessing that the people on here moaning about him weren't actually watching otherwise they would have mentioned the fact that one of the topics that were being discussed was whether football club chairmen should be buddy buddy with the players and allowing them to have his ear to moan about the manager and he was in the "definitely not" school of thought

In fairness I did take note of that part. You'd wonder if we could do with a mixture of Parishes financial management mixed with Jordan actually running the club. I have a feeling Jordan would be reluctant to ever try and "progress" the club though, whether that's a good or bad thing would provide a myriad of differing opinions from Palace fans I'd guess.

I thought the same recently but then remember Coppell leaving after saying he couldn't work with him.

I do however wish he stepped in on TF and stopped the Akinbiyi error staring every sane Palace fan on the planet.

On transfers he actually said that he would back the Manager even if he personally thought the player was not very good.
As we know he kept Andrew for an extra year before selling him to Everton.Rewarded him financially.

That was one of his excellent decisions. Shame he got injured for if he didn't I think we would've rocketed back up.

The several poor roughly Ł1 mil signings the managers made didn't work out.

Heard him say recently all he did with getting involved was go in the changing room on first league day and ask them if they were up for it. Probably had to with PT. He wasn't and every player waited for someone else to do something.

More to the point, whose wife was he visiting in Surrey Quays?

Maybe he was going to see Cecil Parkinson's former girlfriend 'Sara Keays' !

Caught the start of this as I thought the draw was being done on that channel. Find him to be the male equivalent of Katie Hopkins. Loud, irritating and there to generally kick the hornets nest

He's invested considerably less than Simon Jordan did and has had it back in spades. Good luck to him and the other three, and he's managed the money much better than SJ did, but the way the purchase was structured there was actually very little risk for the original four. If we'd have managed to stay up under Jordan, and if we'd actually owned the ground, it might have been a different story.

When they bought Palace in 2010 it was making a loss and continued to do so until they sold Zaha and we were promoted. Had we not been promoted then we would have been back making a loss again. It certainly wasn't a guaranteed profit.

I read his book and it seemed that it was the fault of everyone except him.

Always quite liked him, he's an egocentric tosser but he is mildly amusing and he put his money where his mouth was. A bit of a t***, but he had a personality which football is desperately short of, being full of people who say the right, carefully crafted, focus grouped thing.

And a terrible businessman (as is probably anyone who buys a football club).

I'd never want him to own the club again mind.

That's true but as the four shareholders in 2010 secured their loans with charges against the club's assets their money wasn't at risk

I wouldn't of thought the clubs assets at the time of purchase were that great, that is why they were in administration. Any valuable asset had been sold and nobody else were prepared to buy Palace and Lloyds wanted to close us down.
You seem to think Jordan views on football are credible, I don't think that is the view of most fans.

Would.

And she'd say thank you after.
