In trying hard not to defend Pardew at the time I kept saying things could get a lot worse by sacking him, for the simple reason is we had stability under him. We were at least competitive and looked like scoring. We were losing too many games so something had to give I guess, but no-one was out classing us, we'd just slipped into the habit of leaking late goals which was costing us a lot of points.Now we're a shambles, a mess at both ends of the pitch and everyone is outclassing us.
I know he'll still be getting the blame now,but we were still competitive under him and just needed tweaking, now we've become a laughing stock!!
