I used to work for a bank that often employed the Hampshire captain (possibly as Colin Ingleby McKenzie was a director) and we often entertained clients at Hampshire games. I remember taking a client plus his 12 year old cricket mad son to one game and took a photo of Malcolm Marshall with his arm round the lad. My over riding memory is that his arm was wider than the lad's neck

James Vince who has disappointed being selected - Uhm ! I appreciate that Tom Westley hasn't really 'set the world alight' but I would have thought he was a better proposition than Vince. Aussies must be favourites.

All those different formats of the game these days. In the old days, I recall that on Sunday afternoons there was a limited overs game on television between a county team against the 'International cavaliers' which was made up each week of different players from various counties.Perhaps older members on HOL will recall this ! Australia favourites why? Just had 2 series wins against South Africa and West Indies. I think South Africa as good if not better than the Aussies. All to play for with the Aussies having home advantage. Would have wanted proven players at this level like Plunkers and Rashers myself, also Westley unlucky after his good innings last time. Looks like Joe Root will be doing the captaincy, the batting and the bowling as well !
