Why so many opposite throwing on one of our own for Tekkers? At least whoever (of our own) coming in will grab the opportunity with both hands & feet, give it all - and might score a goal as well. Who knows? IMO a much better path forwards than Cole/Lambert & Co...

If he is our only fit senior striker, why not play him? If Roy chooses not to, what is the point of having Ladapo at the club?

It also sends out a signal to other local youngsters that perhaps they should look elsewhere for a development role

Training games and U23 squad. Not all players are on the books to in the first team. They still play an important role within the whole structure of the club though.

Two senior goalkeepers and one senior striker - out for weeks. First manager sacked after a handful of games, next one without the players to do the job. No points and no goals. Not this time, Steve.

The thing that stands out for me is that Freddie is actually a squad member being one of the 3 strikers ie he is the reserve striker so if the first and second (Connor??) are injured you'd expect him to get the nod or as bifffa says what's the point of him being at the club...surely not just for practice matches and under 23 games! He's young quick and strong and knows where the goal is..whether or not he'll cut it who knows but surely he must be given a chance. What's to lose against United and Chelsea? Sadly Ricky Lambert ain't the answer and he can't do any worse. Come on Freddie!
Just my opinion of course

If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong

In the old days when you had the Football Combination Reserve League Ladapo would definitely play replacing Benteke.
Nowadays it's different.
With the Loan system totally abused.
Bring back the old system.
This week we would have been Away to Man Utd and the reserves would have been playing Man Utd reserves at Selhurst.

Might aswell give him a chance. I'm expecting zero goals this weekend, so he can't really do worse than that, can he? Plus, I'd rather a fired-up Ladapo eager to impress than a lazy Sako.

One of our own ? Been on the books for a year since joining from...Margate.

I don't think anybody has any ill feeling towards Freddie, but are despairing at the situation in which our only fit striker is a player who has never been involved in a PL fixture. Everyone will get behind him and hope he scores of course. But you've got to admit, the situation is terrible and the idea he might bang them in is fanciful.

About as fanciful as an over-the-hill and unfit Lambert or Cole banging them in. If those are the options then why not give him a chance?

With no other striker available, if he's not at least given the chance to start on Saturday, and we instead prefer to play a midfielder out of position, then he should be on the transfer list in January, as there's no point in his being here.

These are equally fanciful, I would not disagree with that. Has anybody mentioned to Parish and The Septics that we should have got a striker in the window ?
