I simply could not believe the sentence. If that was a young lad off an estate who did that at a football match he'd be in jail. Young, educated woman not in jail. That isn't justice. Edited by johnno42000 (26 Sep 2017 7.29pm)

Edited by johnno42000 (26 Sep 2017 7.29pm) I agree with your sentiment, but the comparison you've used is a bit extreme. 1) carrying a knife in public and taking it to a football match is a much more serious offence in my view than having a bread knife to hand indoors (i accept that the use of the knife is equivalent in both cases). 2) how would a young lad off a council estate afford to be at a football match in the first place, assuming you are talking about the Prem For the avoidance of doubt, 2) is meant as a satirical joke.

Fair point. I'll change it to a young Palace supporter who gets home after another defeat and his elder sister takes the pee and he stabs her. I still think he wouldn't get the same sentence and he has even more mitigating factors.
