The risk element is practically zero because the club have been spending their income via Sky and not loans. Basically, we have spent half a billion in five years to end up back in The Championship with very little change to what we were like in 2011. Criminal.

When I say we've had to take risks, I mean like spending 35m on Benteke because we had no quality up front. He could have been a flop last season and we would've gone down. (I know he's been poor this season). We appear to have risked all our available budget on players (apart from some significant spend on infrastrure groundture mandated by the prem) hoping it will be enough to keep us up and start to consolidate. If we'd spent less on players we would surely have gone down before this year?

Just 25% of that, over £100m on the infrastructure, could have had a huge impact on our future, and you could add the American's £50m to that.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

I have also played in the USA and on the 1994 World Cup Final pitch, Australia, Bermuda, Germany, Greece, Italy, Holland, Ireland and Denmark. The team for most of those games abroad was coached by the brother of a Spurs legend. I also qualified as a referee with Surrey FA so I do think I know a little bit about football.

I had to laugh at the bit you say "I played on the 1994 world cup pitch" for feck sake does that make you a world cup player??? I think you added that to put a bit of gloss on your fantastic football career. My the places you have played football I suppose I could say I played in Aden, Singapore, Burma, Malaya, Northern Island Florida, Cyprus, Borneo, Falklands, Scotland to name but a few places I played when I was in the Marines but it deflects from the issue which is Wayne is s***e and I am not alone in my thoughts if you read ALL of the thread. Many people see him as the weak link as I do. He does not command his area he just stands there with his arms in the air and cannot dive to save his life. Jules maybe a lot older than him but he can move a lot faster and does not mind if he gets hurt unlike pansy Hennessy who is frightened of getting hurt and putting himself on the line for the team. OK the defence is weak BUT Wayne is the last man standing and SHOULD be saving more goals than he does but he is not. I just cannot understand why Jules does not get in goal more often as he cannot and I repeat Cannot do any worse than "Flapper" Hennessy who has in reality lost us more points in the last year and made us easy prey to all other teams. Our defence is weak due to Hennessy being behind them and they panic when the ball is getting near knowing "Flapper" is behind them and then they go and make lots of mistakes due to him being there. He needs to be moved to the bench in my opinion and that is the opinion of many others on this site. So do not please just get on my back for stating the obvious that is out there to see. As a supposed Referee you shouldbe watching Wayne more than you do and just see how he is weak playing in goal and not just blame the defenders.
