So with all the multitudes of cock ups we have had to bare over the last 5 seasons,we have created history and stayed in the top flight.
So if the fault is at the Top so must the credit be.
Well done Parish for keeping us there,in the Top 20.

We've been lucky certain managers were out of work or willing to come. When the best are here they don't leave anything undone that'll leave us vulnerable. If parish had his way he'd buy every player required at 10.59pm on deadline day. And the managers who've succeeded were when there wasn't any choice. Even Holloway and Pardew were practically begging to get away and in here.

As soon as Parish had a choice he made the wrong left field one.

He's good at keeping a tight ship or overseeing everything but not football. Turning into a liability.

Wish he had!!

Better to ignore managers with premier league experience and especially one who will more than likely respect all the points on offer. Now looks even more stupid than it did then. Wtf was my reaction when it was eventually Frank and not one of the others.

Perhaps there is no simple explanation as to our current plight and is probably an array of factors.

That said, I cannot help thinking about our transfer activity in recent seasons. It is players who win games irrespective of the systems played and our overall squad is totally lacking in PL quality.

Just look at some of our options in midfield - Lee,Sako,Mutch.Even Cabaye and Puncheon have been off the pace and don't offer too much.McArthur has had his injury problems and is struggling to recreate his previous form.

Up front - For a few seasons now our transfer activity has been dire - Remy,Bamford,Adebayor,Sanogo,Ameobi etc etc.Furthemore the likes of Campbell and Gayle have not shown they can do it in the PL.And look at the options now !!!!

So overall, one can point figures at our recruitment and probably this is the prime reason why we are in the mire.

Recruitment is a serious issue, but so was extending Pardew, keeping him on, and embarking on that 'expansive' football, along with the already made 'transition' excuse. The team hadn't really changed enough to do that, and also we'd sold Bolasie, which I'm not criticising but affects this change in strategy. Not only that but we didn't recruit a bad left back or def mid. We just didn't sign any. Just a past it Flamini who hadn't played for ages. And what did we do this season with striker? The same. All of that Pardew project was after a 5 month struggle to get a couple of wins.

Then there's the Frank experience. Did we not have a near escape with Sam and announce a limited budget?

Yes Willo, recruitment should be a lot better and go beyond the panini album and actually start about at least half a year before they may move on, preferably earlier. Not 10.59pm on deadline day.

Recruitment and strategy/planning and indeed lack of plus manager selection/extensions and agreements/changes in team strategy are why we're here. Specifically now it's Frank and Benteke with nobody to step in or challenge his place.

Shambles in other words and those responsible deserve the relegation to learn. We don't deserve it, especially when you see it unfold and watch us take 6 weeks waiting for Southampton to choose our manager after we don't hire Dyche, and log on to find all we've bought is Riederwald and 2 loans. Navigated into relegation. But it was okay, everyone uses Skype these days, even when there's emergency issues in an organisation. I can see every large company not sending in their top ball breaker and instead talking over a screen in fvcking Skype. Silly me.

To summarise why we're in this mess:

2 appalling summers regarding recruitment (leaving specialist positions without back up until the last day, or not at all).

2 appalling summers regarding manager extension, selection, football tactics agreements, trust, believing in interview BS, not stepping in when alarm bells must've rung loud etc.

That's where we've gone wrong. Even if we hadn't gone wrong there we're still amongst the others at risk of relegation, so which begs the question, why take those risks with players not signed when we had the money, or tactical changes made after far from stable times just behind us.

I wholeheartedly agree. I think the word shambles is entirely accurate. And whilst I appreciate the special place that SP has in the hearts of us Palace fans, I'm fed up with his bluster around this catalogue of cock-ups.

It's just not good enough to continue saying 'Look, it's hurts me too. I love this club like every fan!'. We know that, SP. Nonetheless, we'd like some clear and sensible decision making please.

My heart sank when Da Silva went to Watford. Yes, he may have been a manager who was keen to provide a stage to move on to a bigger club, but in the turmoil of Sam resigning we just needed someone to ensure that the team had a backbone and would healthily consolidate its PL status.

I was disbelieving when De Boer's appointment was announced. At no point did I think that it was anything but an ambitious gambit born out of a lack of alternatives.

I'll be singing my heart out at Selhurst Park, but underneath it I'm very upset about the sorry stat we are in.

May I add Parish's over-reaching and lack of awareness as to the limits of his own ability a few years back in running a football club with one of the top 40 highest incomes in the world.

This for me is the biggest cock-up of all and self-inflicted.

I don't like the blame-game unless it has productive outcomes from the system, rather than individuals.

T'internet has put rumours into overdrive.

I just hope CPFC have the right people to get the club out of this. And that starts from the top, but goes all the way to the pitch.

I think your find Silva was always going to go to Watford.
From Sam resigning to Silva signing was a matter of days.
