You are projecting your ideas onto a time frame that was very different.

It was certainly true that Kennedy was engaged in using his White House authority to sometimes disagree with and battle the military and intelligence establishment. He was also engaged with the battle that all presidents fight with the press to control how news is presented.

For starters they can abolish income tax. Taxes for everything out there. Forego that one and if anything raise vat. Let people choose to buy a can of coke for 3 quid if they want. But let people earn decent money even in the lower paid jobs.

But why did the russians not do it,why have we not landed on another planet, and does everyone think they really had the technology to do that back in the 1960s.
I'm not really one for conspiracy theories,but never thought it happened.

The real surprise for me was how basic the Russian technology was. It looked like something out of a Jules Verne story.
