Right-wing nutjobs seem to be fueled almost entirely on projection. Just look at Trump's tweets / behaviour - there's a prior tweet accusing Obama of doing exactly what Trump is doing at any given time. Projection.

It's actually pretty scary if you think about it, because it means that the insane behaviour they project onto other people is what's rattling around in their heads on a fairly continuous basis. It must be for it to just pour out immediately after something like this has happened. They think these ridiculous theories are plausible because in their hearts they know they'd be ok with this if it was helping their causes.
