I don't think Sam allows passengers.

So England have better players than Palace - that's a revelation Roy..!!

You were bought in to pass on that and your knowledge and experience from working with those players to to our squad.

This is like me taking a job at a lesser company and saying yeah but I only delivered that because of the team around me - so why do they need me?

What Roy should be saying is - look I have worked with the best and this is what they did, this was their training regime dah de dah and if you work with me I can take you to the same level - that's what I'd be saying.

The to say ‘We expect players to be as professional as we are, to care as much, and to be as energetic and passionate about football as we are. And they aren’t.’

Is laughable - they are the very reasons why you are in post - if you believe can't instill that into the squad - why did you take the job.

The whole thing came across as "a cop out to me" - don't blame me if it doesn't work out I'm used to working with "better tools"..!!

Would that inspire me if I was a Palace player - no completely the opposite.

Come on Roy - you are better than that..!!

Hopefully it was misquoted - but either way it doesn't help..!!

That is not very different from what Sam and FdB said.

To me, that all points to a deeper problem that Sam, FdB, and Hodgson have all felt the need publicly to point out.

As an example, we have been one of the worst teams for movement in the PL for at least two seasons. That includes Sam's time at the club.

Sam, FdB, and Hodgson have all at least been consistent in pointing out that the team lacks quality across the first 11 and there is little to no depth in terms of the quality of the squad. Whether the players, however, are good enough is one thing, but there is no reason they cannot work their arses off on the pitch: yet a number of them don't. That points to a problem of application, and based upon the comments of the two previous managers Roy is not wrong.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

Some clown, just happens to be holder of England Manager's highest Record Percentage EVER, with 77.09%, check it out, higher than ALL previous managers.

Also manager of Switzerland and took them to last 16 of world cup, and then qualified them for the Euro's
Also manager of Finland and took them to their highest ever FIFA ranking

He gets slated by people like you for his last England tournament,in all our history only three managers have got beyond the Quarter final, Alf Ramsey (won) and Bobby Robson and Terry Venables (Semi Final.

Do some research before calling one of the best coaches in Europe a clown.

Roy will surely equal FDB 's dubious 4 straight defeats against Chelsea.

As Parish has set a precedent of 4 defeats and out, should ' Cookie' walk away from the Wales job ,would he now be an ideal candidate to replace Roy,given the old boys connection and his relatively young age, time enough to build a dynasty here.

I wouldn't shout too loudly about his win record for England,in the 2012 Euros he didn't have an absolute foggiest idea how to deal with the Pirlo masterclass, clueless, the qualification for the 2014 WC included matches of the calibre of Montenegro,Moldova and San Marino, we were the first team out on the first plane home, like wise the 2016 Euros against the heavyweights of Estonia,Lithuania and San Marino, and the debacle of the Iceland game, I would expect managers from the Championship, Divs 1 and 2 to be able to make the team qualify from those groups with the talent at their disposal, and he still seems clueless about how substitutes are meant to be used, or how to combat teams that have players that can launch long throws! The less said about his reign at Liverpool the better probably.

Not really any faults to bash Roy at Palace. He's joined a club with shytest hand in world football.

Buzzing reading this. Let's not forget what he did with Fulham too. There are some real fools out there at the minute. I preferred being rubbish in the championship. At least proper fans were engaged in a debate then. The prem has brought an ugly bunch with it.

Agreed. No one can deny since his appointment we've looked better both defensively and offensively - we're keeping the ball far better and at the back, the partnership of Sakho and Dann looks great with the latter seemingly getting his confidence back - just need some of his set piece goals back now. It's just unfortunate for Roy that he has one top striker to pick from and he's out injured.

Also enjoyed his comments on the phrase 'must win game' - great to see a manager not playing into the medias hands with their silly questions.

you are right actually the way he has conducted himself with the media since his appointment has been admirable its as if he is starting to mature even at 70 odd years of age, the way he conducted himself on numerous times with England he came across as an absolute clueless wally, a complete laughing stock.

We're all familiar with the idiom and we all know exactly what it means. Yes, all games are important, but in our position winning against the teams that you're in a relegation battle with does you the biggest favours. I thought that it was a pedantic and unnecessary point he was making as he knew damn well what was being asked. Wins against the top six are a bonus, but to stay up you have to beat the teams around you. Stating the bleeding obvious, that a game can't be a must win if the opposition plays better than you isn't helpful. Rather than spending time on semantics, I'd prefer to hear a more positive message from Roy or at least some fighting talk.
