Always use a diary. I've got a pricing diary with a list of materials etc in and a day a page diary.
The second one I have the fellas names written on the left and where they will be that day on the right, as we change our minds throughout the few days before the actual work day and keep moving the men about, couldn't be f*cked to keep turning on a tablet. Plus if it comes on top the diary can go in the fire.

Yup, I use a paper diary for work and social life, but I don't have a mobile or tablet etc so it's either use a diary or forget important stuff and get in trouble with 'er indoors. (Increasingly common as I age!)

Random question... In an age of mobile apps, does anyone use paper diaries? Apart from jotting down appointments on dates, are they of any other use? I mean do people actually care the measurements or public holiday dates in those extra pages? Or use it to make notes?

Oddly enough even though for the family we use Google Calendar as you can share diff things across the one app, I've actually ordered myself an A5 Filofax for the first time in decades...unless i have a laptop in front of me i find scribbling notes etc far quicker than taping on the phone.

My wife uses her diary on a regular basis. She writes things down in pencil so she can erase things if necessary etc etc.Often see her pulling it out of her bag and either looking at it or scribbling something down.

I haven't used one for several years - I use an online calendar.
